thanks! I had the same problem with my old '09 RR HSE Sport and my mechanic solved the problem and he told me what you just stated in this post. Now, I drive a 2014 Disco 4 HSE Lux. I moved to Florida 12 days ago and we had had torrential rain for the whole day. The same problem as before, so I will try using a weed whacker filament which is strong to push any obstruction and flexible to navigate the curves in the draining hose. I vacuumed about 500 cc of water from the passenger compartment (US version)

Just done passenger side ...... hardest bit was replacing cjb .... which took a while but once i turned it side ways to get electric plugs back in it went easy .... put new tube in with new valve then joined in the A Pillar .... job done .... 👍👍👍👍

Hi mate. Going through exactly the same as you. Managed to replace the drain tube. But I'm now on clean up. The wires are totally covered in water. How did you remove the plastic trim to expose all the wires. I want everything cleaned and dried thoroughly. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Hey colin The trim came up just by careful prising I.e. just pull it up. Use a plastic lever to avoid scratching the paint. You may need to remove the b pillar trim (the one housing the drivers seatbelt), mine was off anyway at the time. I used a plastic hose siphon from Amazon (about a fiver I think). Have a look at disco3 forum, there's endless guides on there. Best of luck.

i did this and even bought the new hose install new clips to the pillars on the outside they were loosen and still getting leaks any idea what else could be

Kos or Kosm Did you replace all four hoses? There are two at the front and two at the rear. I needed to fix all four as they were all loose. Also, check the cabin air filter box (it’s in the passenger side footwell) as water in there would suggest a scuttle panel leak. Also check the air conditioning hoses as these are known to leak. Here’s a tonne of information on there Disco3 forum, google that and search on there. It is a brilliant resource. Best of luck.

How do you get to the outlet on a right hand drive vehicle when it’s the near side passenger foot well that’s wet ?

Hi Geoff. The nearside footwell being wet would be the drain tube behind the glovebox. I did mine and sadly lost the video footage. It is a considerably more difficult part to access, both because there is no air vent on the wing and also the tube is located behind the main car electrical conjunction and fuse box. That fuse box needs removing entirely, and it's not for the feint of heart nor those with large hands. There's a guide on the Disco3 forum, Google it and you'll find it on there. Take the job on if you have a spare car and spare time, it is time consuming and if you struggle to get the fusebox back in (those with larger hands often struggle) then the car will be a large paperweight until you get an auto electrician out.

Hi there, I have had this same problem for years and have done everything you have done and still not sorted. I only have passenger footwell issues. My mechanic has cleared the drain pipes for me, replaced the nipples on the end of the hose, I've also had 3 new windscreens and I still have the issue. I am at a loss as to what I should do next. I'm thinking I need to take the headliner down and see if there is an issue with the chassis panels as I have watched so many video's and tried to diagnose myself and im still not sorted. If you can shed any light and maybe suggest some other problem solving solutions I would be most grateful. Cheers

Hi Dan. Have you checked the rear drain tubes too? There's one on each corner of the sunroof, the two rears are supposed to drain through tubes into the rear arches, but if you have a problem the water will run down the channels in the sill and come out in the front footwells.

@@richardmaby7982 they have been checked too and cleaned out with pressured air so any leaves and debris has been removed. Something that is of interest is that when the car is parked on an incline, bonnet upwards and boot downwards the water does not come down into the footwell also the headlining where it meets the windscreen stays dry which usually gets wet when the car is parked on the flat. Any more thoughts?

If the headlining gets wet, it is pretty certainly a drain tube that has become separated. You'll need to get the headlining down to check.

Hi there. Sorry to say that the passenger side is a real pig of a job. You'll need to take out the fusebox, after removing the glovebox completely. It took me a full day and is very fiddly. Once out, you'll find the drain hose behind it. If the valve (going through to the wheelarch) has perished you'll need to remove the wheel and arch liner, after which you'll be just about able to reach up inside the liner to get to the valve. You can't see it, so it's all by feel. Silly silly design!

Well, I have chickened out and it is booked in to a LR specialist, I have taped up the roof and it seems to be working, also I have poured water down my A/C drain ( which is not cold ) another job, and it drains away.

Probably wise. Once the fuseboard is out, there is no going back. If you couldn't get it back in again you'd have been stuck fast...

But, the problem is that without the air intake to give easy access the only way to get to it is either internally (by removing the fuesboard behind the glovebox) or externally by removing the wheel arch liner and reaching up inside between the inner panel and the outer wing. Its a real pig of a job sadly, be prepared for a good few hours and some bruised knuckles. When I change mine I will do a video, so please do subscribe! Best of luck.

I would guess so, the LR2 will have drain tubes somewhere but I'm not certain where they are- probably similar.

Hi, what size is the hose you put inside? 2.7mm diameter right? Mine is a LHD so it’s way harder to reach the hose on the passenger side, do you think just putting inside a new hose would be enough to repair the leak? Also what is the diameter of the hose If I take off everything to fix it correctly ? Thank you

Hi Antoine. I cannot exactly recall the size of the hose, sadly. I doubt that putting a new hose inside the old one would work well, as you would be reducing the diameter of the inside of the drain and it'll only get blocked more easily. The passenger side is a pain to do, but even so I would do a full replacement. Best of luck

I have taken once most of the plastics from underneath to redo the spice (don’t know if I’m right there « the weld ») for the central locking, so taking off plastic is an easy thing haha however for the fuse box it’s something else.. I will call Land Rover to see if they have it in stock or if I can buy like a meter of the hose just to redo the broken junction. Thank you! Your video is great ;)

I removed the fuse board (disconnect the battery first of course). Its complicated, removing the connections to the rear of the board. Check out Disco3 forum for advice, I followed what was on there and it took about 3-4 hours

I did have a thought… why not drop the headlining, re-route the front tube to the rear drain tube , cut into the rear tube, and connect them via a T-coupler..? Any thoughts…

I used a plastic tube siphon, bought off ebay for a few pounds. That got the water out of the body channels and then I just kept the windows open a bit for a few days for the carpets to air dry.
