No one reloads with a fixed bayonet. It would stay in it's frog till a fix order came. Some of it is for show.

I have lived in both the U.S. and Canada and the story of the war of 1812 are told quite differently on both sides. Each sees it as a victory, not a defeat.

Well, the Americans can keep telling themselves that. Their first war of imperialist expansion didn't result in expansion. Invading land forces consistently beaten back by outnumbered British forces.

The area of the watershed of the Ottawa river was called Canada from before 1600. After 1763, the area upstream of Ottawa was called "Upper Canada" and that downstream, including Montreal was "Lower Canada".

Yea........LOL........I think it was 3rd or 4th grade we did the school "field trip" to the Fort Niagara, 50+ years ago........ Is history even covered in the schools today? Or at least history before FDR??? No way the snowflakes would allow a field trip to 'ole Fort Niagara these days.
