Discovery Channel Man Made Marvels Kuala Lumpur Flood Control 3/4
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's Capital, is under siege from flash floods, powerful forces of nature that bring the city to its knees. The source: severe thunderstorms that pound the city for months on end. But Kuala Lumpur is fighting back. A daring construction project will try to bring the mighty floods under control. Massive floodgates across three rivers; six kilometres of canals; giant storage ponds and a state of the art storm water tunnel that doubles as an underground highway. It's a combination that has never been attempted before. If they can pull it off, Kuala Lumpur's flood control system will truly be a man made marvel.

For those who says a perfect recipe for disaster and negative things, just to let you know, tunnel is closed when heavy rain falls, even if they don't need to close it. It will take few hours of rain before they need to flow water through, by that time, the last car already passes at least an hour before.

It's nice to follow this project because we badly needed this in the Manila, Philippines. I hope we also have it like in our Malay brother country Malaysia.

Dude, you think people who make these don't think about the obvious? Maybe. But give them some credit, these people spend decades studying on how to build.

So...everytime the flood water flows through the entire tunnel, they must clean the silt out of the roadway?

@@ultimateanthony1883 Yeah, mate, I know. Just that I get pissed when we have units of measure, and some bugger has to go and use a new one, that is not precise or even well known. Now a Foot, it's a foot. A meter, just about exactly a meter. Can't get simpler than that. A story may be 300 pages, a swimming pool, 5 million litres, a football field, whatever size they make 'em. Bloody media type people who make this sheet up. Annoys me, Hey.

Check the "up next" in at the top of the recommended vids in the far right, or hit the next button, (shift+n) to the right of the play button. Most times it will take you to the next segment. Though not always. It's pretty common to up load in segments for several reasons like the automatic copyright AI or the time it takes the up loader to upload.
