I may be almost 24 but I really liked The Hub. It had the good old shows from the old days. Batman, Superman, Goosebumps. Heck I even liked The Haunting Hour even though it wasn't around back then! I may not have had The Hub to see as a kid, but watching The Hub all the time made me feel like a kid again.

I'm 25 now, I'm personally growing up watching Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Blossom and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch with my sisters during the 90s was absolutely blessing. Now, Discovery Family is show The Little Couple or 7 Little Jonistons reruns that made me sick.

I LOVED THE HUB. I literally loved every single program on that channel. When the changed the channel, I stopped watching it completely. The only time I watched it was on Saturday, early mornings when the new My Little Pony episode would premiere.

At least Boomerang ran for a while before it was re-branded, and the same for Cartoon Network. But the Hub? Four fucking years. Seriously? Why didn't I know about this sooner? October 10th 2010 Discovery Kids Became The Hub, Then Now, The Hub Becomes Discovery Family. Discovery & Hasbro Annouced That The Hub Network would be relaunched as Discovery Family, one of the most notable reasons because of lack of advertising from companies such as Mattel & others, for the specific reasons they they don’t want to pay for an ad space on a network that is owned by one of its main rivals, And Hasbro was staking too much after making a venture with discovery and decided to ced the operation & let discovery take over the network.

It's sad to see the Hub go. Discovery Family killed a lot of the other Hasbro shows... I think the ONLY reason Discovery Family is still on the air is because of MLP Friendship is Magic... And even then, that's not enough of a reason I think. I remember when they had aired a lot of the 90's Warner Brothers cartoons like Batman and Batman Beyond, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, and many more. But I'm sadly realizing that a lot of this cartoon shows are just killing cartoons.

As of now, Roku Channel has all of the Hasbro stuff on there. “Tiny Toons” and “Animaniacs” are on Hulu as well, and “Batman Beyond” and “Batman: The Animated Series” are on HBO Max.

And thanks to its now owned WB Discovery, they are now adding “Looney Tunes” to its schedule and they are running vintage cartoons with Bugs Bunny and others. I’m a huge Bugs Bunny fan, and I’m glad that is now on Discovery Family, good job!

You know what I hate about the transition from the Hub Network to Discovery Family? All those older viewers from the '90s who grew up watching 'Blossom' last summer after almost two decades off the air. They've watched it as if they're experiencing their childhoods again. And now that the Hub is gone so are the 'Blossom' reruns. We'll have to wait another two decades for that show to ever air on TV again - and we can't sit around watching poor quality videos of the episodes on the Internet while only the first two seasons were out on DVD. Margaret Loesch has made a terrible mistake on stepping down as CEO of the Hub which led to the network's demise. I refuse to watch Discovery Family until the Hub returns. All I want to say is f**k Discovery Family and long live the Hub!

Now thanks to the merger and the rebranding of what is now called Warner Bros. Discovery, Discovery Family is not dead, but according to the new website that Discovery Family is not listed at the moment, but the rest of the Discovery owned channels are now joining the rest including TBS, TNT, TCM, CN, Boomerang, HBO, and more, but I don’t see Discovery Family going away anytime soon. They’re continue to carry reruns of Hasbro shows from the Hub era including “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” and more after the rebranding of Warner Bros. Discovery, until Hasbro’s contract will be out the door. Thanks to Hasbro’s parent company, Entertainment One, they acquired a whole bunch of content that Hasbro Studios and Allspark produced at the time. eOne owns “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” along with so many classic 80’s cartoons that Sunbow/Marvel produced which is now part of eOne.

Not all discovery channel shows are family oriented so that's probably why they would never turn discovery channel into discovery family because for that reason. Plus if they did that children would tune to Hub Network because they have better shows that children would like.

I could care less about the channel change. As long as I'm getting new episodes of "Littlest Pet Shop" and "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", I'm good. If I'm not mistaken, The Hub was owned by Discovery Communications. For the record, regarding all of the shows like "ALF," Sabrina; The Teenage Witch," etc, those shows had been off the air long before the channel change. I mean, "Dan VS." hasn't had a new episode since March of 2013.

As much as all of you miss The Hub or Hub Network, please keep those words in mind by fastsonicous of deviantART as to why Discovery Family exists instead of The Hub or Hub Network: "And sometimes it can it's own demographic can backfire. Remember the Hub? (Oh. How can you guys forget?) It was a huge hit in the 2010s with it's 80s/90s nostalgia and a lineup that many people used to remember. Why did it go downhill? I was unhappy when Discovery Communications took 10% of the channel and renamed it Discovery Family. It doesn't matter anyway, The Hub used to be a good channel (due to shows Batman Beyond, M.I.B.: The Series, Conan the Adventurer, Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock, Batman, Superman, Goosebumps, just to name a few), but The Hub was starting to get stale for me due to unnecessary schedule changes and airing awful, horrible shows like MLP: FiM, Transformers: Prime, G.I. Joe: Renegades, Sabrina: Secrets of the Teenage Witch, JEM, just to name a few). And when Discovery Communications began to replace The Hub with Discovery Family (to broadcast shows similar to Discovery Channel's own programming, but for families during the afternoons and evenings), I was really disappointed because I was not interested of the shows that Discovery Family had to offer, but oh well, I don't watch the channel anymore though.

As of now, Discovery Family is now owned of WBD, and they are adding WB stuff on there like “Smurfs” which was produced by Hanna-Barbera, “Baby Looney Tunes”, “Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries”, and now “Looney Tunes” are now being added to the schedule. The few remaining shows are “Pound Puppies (2010)”, “Littlest Pet Shop” and “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” were part of the Hub’s legacy are on the schedule for now.

Family Game Night is still on. It's just on hiatus right now but it will be back. Quick question completely off topic: Have you seen The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water? If so, what did you think of it? So far I've heard only one negative review. I'm not a huge fan of Spongebob but I'm kinda curious about this movie based on what I've heard about it. I don't mind taking ALF off because I have the complete first season on DVD and that's awesome.

I never really watched the Hub, but when I looked at the programming schedule for Discover Family all I saw was about three hours of animation, and the rest of the day was crappy animal video shows. BTW, I think that the Hub was always owned by Discovery.
