My TLDR answer is as follows, lol: First off, Princess IS my favorite CL purely d/t food. With that said, not any time soon. The lack of water park is a downfall for me. I'd rather take a solo cruise (well, just my husband and myself, not solo) without the kiddos. My youngest is too young to leave with a sitter at this time. My kids have gotten used to the funner ships with water parks and I don't think they'd be jazzed about not haviing those. NCL and Carnival would be the ones we sail, NCL preferred, food better in my experience, just a tad nicer than CCL.

We just got back from crusing on the Discovery Princess to Alaska. It was my first cruise and far surpassed any expectations I could have had. The Crew was also amazing. We loved Duvaal the cruise director.

Churchills is closed as of 7-27-24, I too enjoys cigars and was disappointed to learn that they are putting in a video arcade, but the cigar smoking is on the 7th deck aft and the 17th deck aft. The aft smoking area looked a lot nicer on the Discovery than it did on the Ruby Princess...

I found it especially helpful to have the deck number, the MAP, starboard & port articulated. CAMERA WORK’S OUTSTANDING. Video is Oscar worthy camera work, technically Impressive and captures the beauty of the ship. The video was steady, no fragmentation, PAUSES LONG ENOUGH TO MATCH SPACE W MAP While absorbing audio information. I did the Discovery on the Alaska Sampler out of Vancouver May 4-8, it was a great cruise and I loved the ship. This was my first Princess cruise and I am looking forward to many more. Thanks for the great video

Hello everyone. Our Mexico trip coming up in October will be our 4th trip on Princess (Royal Class ships I think). #1) Eastern Seaborg (Brookland thru Novas Socia anb back), #2) Bahamas, (Ft. Lauderdale to numerous places in the West Indies including San Martin and back), #3) Grand Western Europe (Barcelona thru Montenegro then ending in Rome). #4) This coming October (LA, to Cabo, Mazatlán, Purta Virata and back to LA). Anyway, in this video at 5:55 I noticed the carpet design in one of the cabin hallways has an interesting pattern. Unlike the other Princess Cruise ships, we have been on, the carpets have a random design. ON this ship, I see three distinct shapes pointing in the same direction down the hallway. Hopefully, this shape indicates that ship direction of travel, e.g.: pointing toward the forward of the ship. As comical as it may seem, for the first few days of our trips, we get turned around with respect to the forward and aft direction of the ship when below deck or on decks without windows. It's a bit embarrassing being a our middle 60's, walking aimlessly down endless hallways looking for the elevator, the laundry room or anything else for that matter. As we get to the upper levels where windows are present, we simply glance at the direction of travel based on the movement of the ship relative to the water. Having this pattern everywhere on the ship (if that's what it is intended to be for) is what I would certainly vote for.

Not to give anyone a hard time here, nor correct anyone. But Japanese can be difficult to pronounce for anyone, who hasn't spent time studying the language. In Japan, the word Ahi as in Ahi Tuna would be pronounced as: AH-HEE by the locals. -All my best always and happy sailing😀

Princess doesn’t require show reservations. For the Sanctuary you can book pre-cruise or first day.

Beautiful and informative video!!!! Love how you incorporated the deck maps!!! Did you happen to notice where the outdoor smoking sections were? Was there a side of the wake view you could smoke at? Yes, I am a social pariah who loves smoking cigars whilst outdoors looking at the wake. They were really vague on their website just mentioning there are outdoor smoking areas but did not mention where. Thank you!!!

Hi! Thank you for the tour of the Discovery cruise ship. Can you please tell me if any of the pools or hot tubs are wheelchair accessible. I am in a power wheelchair but can get out of it and manage a few steps if there is a railing/handhold. Thank you!

The pools were accessible. We are not sure about the hot tubs. Most of those require you to climb a few steps up to access them. But some pools have chairs that can lower and raise you out of the water. When is your next cruise?

Great video! I would love to see a video of all things NOT included in the premier package. For example is ocean terrace sushi included in princess premier since you are allotted 2 specialty dinners? I love the look of the meals you had at Crown. If we booked Crown as one of our two specialty dining meals with premier what might not be included? Also premier allows for cocktails up to $18.00. Would we run in to a lot of cocktails over $18.00? Your espresso martinis? Also we would love to do the chefs table can that be booked with our cabin or only available to book once your on board?

What does "medallion class experience" mean? Is there a "medallion class" like there is say Yacht Class on MSC? Do all passengers get the medallion or only some (at a price)? My point is, why not use ordinary and precise language instead of convoluted expressions that are not informative? That said, I appreciate very much your videos and watch them precisely because they are informative.

This is the language the cruise line uses. MedallionClass means the ships have the wearable technology that uses the app instead of a key card. Now all Princess ships have these capabilities. It enables a number of features. It has nothing to do with staterooms. Thanks for watching.

Princess always was my favorite CL, but now that I have kids I definitely think they're subtly trying to keep kids off their ships. It's a bummer there's no water park and ropes course. They could've made it look less tacky and gone with a more neutral color scheme because I get that those waterparks (color-wise) don't fit their brand as the slides are quite bright. Maybe once my kids are grown I'll return to Princess but for now I think these ships are more intended for singles or seniors than for families. What a bummer. I'm sure people who don't like kids are glad, but also there's Virgin CL for them, IMO.

It is true there are not as many attractions on current Princess ships. That could change with its next class.

We tend to choose adults only resorts (usually hang out in Sanctuary for quiet sunning, reading and cocktails) and I think you’re onto something. We noticed very few kids- and it was Spring Break!

The Discovery Channel associated kids clubs are very well run. If you want your kids to run around like ninnies on a cruise and just be stimulated and entertained, then, yeah, you need a lot of top deck entertainment. On the other hand, if you insist that your kids are well behaved and can exist in more subtle environments, Princess has the right idea, kids clubs with an educational and enrichment focus.
