What's the fastest way to charge your RV batteries? How can you accurately monitor your battery levels in real time? How low you can safely drain your batteries before they're damaged?
Here's an experiment seeing how fast your motorhome batteries will drain and how fast they will charge using different scenarios. This information should be useful when you don't have electrical hookups while boondocking or dry camping.

Really nice video -- thanks for sharing. I'm surprised how similar the charging rates are for everything other than solar. Time to swap out those batteries for something with more depth of discharge? Three hours of autonomy doesn't seem like much, but you do have two onboard charging sources. I'm building out an emergency communications trailer, so I won't have the Onan, etc. I went with a much larger battery to help keep my stuff running in off-grid situations a little longer. I'm installing solar, too, but begrudgingly. The actual performance vs. the "rated" performance is pretty disappointing.

So should I put my shunt in between my dc charger and my battery or my inverter and the battery? Thank you

The smart shunt should connect to the battery negative one on side then all other system negatives on the other side. You might want to use a busbar for this.
