While visiting Orlando, Florida we took a day trip over to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive - North Shore. We had no idea that this trip would rank in the Top 10 experiences of all in our travels across the United States. We have never seen so many alligators up close. There were hundreds of them everywhere.
The drive takes you throughout the entire North Shore of Lake Apopka and it is at your own leisure. The best part is that it is completely FREE! Yep, no entrance fees, no tolls, just drive right up and start enjoying the Florida wildlife. They do take donations and there are signs at the entrance to support.
Also, we stop by the Lazydays RV of Tampa to check out the latest rigs, specials, and more. Understanding the industry, knowing what you rig you want, and not being in a rush are all keys to a successful RV purchase.

LOL. Thank you. Me too! Those alligators were absolutely the best part of visiting the Orlando area. Driving through their natural habitat and seeing all of the wildlife was so special. However, there were a few times where I thought the truck needed to be a little bigger. 😀 Those gators were laying on the side of the road everywhere. What a great experience. Thrill and all. We started looking at other campers because we never really looked that hard once we found our Northpoint. We figured, we aren’t in a hurry so it doesn’t hurt to look around. With my luck, Lee will forget to check the box for Washer/Dryer and check the box for generator instead. Keep you posted. All the best, Pam & Lee.

The wildlife refuge is a lot of fun and being able to drive through in your vehicle makes it easy. We recently did the Northwest Trek it also is driven with a guide and they talk on fm station, the buffalo 🦬 were walking on road and around the car was really interesting. Today is my 85th birthday and watching brings back great memories of all the years me and late husband full timed. Great video will be looking forward to the next one.

Enjoyed this video, mainly because of how much ya'll enjoyed the gators. Living in Florida, and close to wildlife areas, it is pretty ordinary to us, but seeing visitors reactions is very enjoyable. In a Jon boat at night is a thrill. With a spot light, you can blind gators, and get close enough to tap their head with a boat paddle. The resulting explosion of movement is a lot of exciting fun. We lived in Destin, Fl and Clermont, Fl prior to going full time. Both of those places have low gator watching potential. LOL. The funny part of the Lake Apopka wildlife drive is that nobody knows about it. I mean, we were 30 minutes from there for two months and didn’t know. We actually talked to a guy walking his dog and he mentioned it. Basically, Pam wanted to go see gators instead of Mickey Mouse. I see her point. 😀 We will definitely try a boat tour next time we circle back. Sounds like a great time. Thanks again!

Great video, thanks. Loved Pam and the gators! Good to see that dealer inventory has gotten back to pre-covid levels. You are right about toy haulers losing a lot of living space. In my (never known to be humble) opinion, you would need to adapt the garage into something useful for the kids, either in conjunction with, or, as opposed to, space for a golf cart. Besides, Pam needs a stackable washer/dryer more!!!

Pam was reading your post and you should have seen her smiling and saying “Yep, totally agree”! We were about to buy the washer and dryer stack, but the last few places didn’t have any and we weren’t there long enough to order them. Since then, I might have used this to my advantage and procrastinated on finding any more. LOL. Completely agree on transforming the garage to a usable space. There are so many different styles, we are in no hurry at all…we’re RVers! 😀

We will be full time next month (family of 6). Taking delivery of a Dutchman Voltage 4271. This toy hauler has a “mid bunk” that can be a den, nursery,etc. It also has two sleep/storage lofts. It might work for your family.

My daughter is moving to her apartment at LSU next week so I figured why stay in this big house with just my dog. So I’ve been watching RV travel videos in KZbin and found you all today. Hi George. The Jayco Northpoint is an amazing RV and incredible floor plan. We are very lucky to have this rig as our first family RV. The quality features that come with the Northpoint is hard to find in other similar brands and floor plans. We aren’t in a hurry to find another one, so we will keep looking and see what happens. You want to look a real full time living trailer fifth wheel Go See lux RV. Alex manufacture is Elkhart Indiana now that’s a real trailer you need to go see that They are expensive but they are worth it. Good luck
