Daniel Slade every correction is a step to a better Internet. ;)
@shirazqaddoumi73209 жыл бұрын
Eivind Ludviksen actually, "That moment when a song is written as a joke becomes one of your favorite" is completely incorrect, even moreso than the original. The original has the correct word in the wrong tense, but yours has an extra word. It should be "that moment when a song written as..." not IS written. If you did not mean "is" as part of the sentence, you meant to say "It [the correct word] is written," then you are still wrong because "is written" is a meaningless sentence fragment. I think the lesson here should be, refrain from correcting other people's grammar online - unless you are pointing out that a correction is in fact wrong and should never have been made. From your name it looks like English might be your second language, if so that is awesome and you know twice as many languages as most americans, (I know Spanish at least,) so be happy with that and don't bother saving internet grammar.

What i like about this is that 200-300 years from now (assuming we last that long) some random kids on the internet will rediscover this video and be so damn curious about who this person was that they'll look him up. All the other politicians and world leaders will be relegated to literal history books and for the most part lost to history. But because this guy's done such a good job that comedians made an epic song about him that's not just them ripping into the politician (which face it, most deserve...), the kids'll either look him up, or bring it up with history teachers just out of curiousity.

This song is amazing. Musically, and vocally. That note at the end when he sings the word god. Just....wow.

I had to look him up. From wikipedia : Jan Egeland (born 12 September 1957) is a Norwegian politician, formerly of the Labour party. He has been the Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council since August 2013. He was previously the Deputy Director of Human Rights Watch and the Director of Human Rights Watch Europe. Egeland formerly served as director of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs and Under-Secretary-General of the UN. Egeland also holds a post as Professor II at the University of Stavanger.

Between the deep crooner style in "The Cabin" and the fantastic acutes in "Jon Egeland", I'd say Vegard Ylvisåker is in possess of a vocal arsenal of almost illegal proportions.

Please, don't compare the two as if they pointed to the same direction. Egeland is genuinely working for peace, the other one is a warmonger stuck in a cold-war-mentality working for a cold-war-mentality money-laundering organization. Speaking of which, next year it's going to be interesting regarding all that failure.

To give some niche background info behind the video, the concert footage is from 9th of June 2012 (9.6.2012) on the 'Viking Stadion', where they opened for the Norwegian Rock band mods. An offer they initially declined, but later accepted once they realized they could use the footage for the music video. The members on stage are, of course, the brothers themselves, along with Kato Ådland on guitar, Lars Bleiklie Devik on Keys, Espen Lien on Bass and the likely more recognizable Tarjei Strøm (of 'Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band' and 'Datarock' fame) on drums.
