True, but do remember that rubber is a product of tree resin, which is also where natural gum comes from, so even old fashioned gum made the original way is a sort of rubber.

It's not uncommon to use cellulose-derivatives, which could be called synthetic, but are chemically a plastic polymer, but it's a polymer based on cellulose and is as such not digested if swallowed. It's unstable in solution, and will break down from heat. So traces in your body will just disintegrate into glucose chains and dietary fiber strands.

Dubble Bubble is not the best for blowing bubbles. That honour goes to Hubba Bubba and Bubble Tape. And the fruit-flavoured Dubble Bubble shown here is just a recent-ish knockoff of Bazooka bubble gum. The REAL Dubble Bubble is the flat pieces in the original 1928 wintergreen flavour, now referred to as "spice". My parents grew up with it, and so did I.
