Abstract
The ABO has developed the Discrepancy Index (DI) to provide an objective evaluation of complexity that might lead to a better understanding of difficulty. Furthermore, the DI was devised to offer a broader basis to qualify cases for the ABO Phase III clinical examination. According to pretreatment record analysis and measurements from dental casts and radiographs, this DI method of case analysis is the ABO’s current approach to summarize the clinical features of a patient’s condition. The DI contains an objective, quantifiable list of target disorders that represent common problems associated with orthodontic diagnosis.

ABO 設計 Discrepancy Index (DI) 來對於案例的複雜程度提供客觀的評估，以期待能更瞭解案例的困難度。此外，DI同時用來評定案例的複雜程度是否適合參與 ABO 第三階段的臨床考試。評估的過程中，DI 是根據治療前的牙齒模型以及放射線影像來計分，並且是目前ABO用來歸納病人臨床特徵的工具。由於分析的項目和矯正最常遇到的診斷有關，而且同時具備了客觀以及量化的特性，因此DI可以說是矯正診斷的關鍵。
