People act like they care so much about children when it's about abortion, but when it comes to the school system and giving everyone a fair opportunity to learn, it's like children's rights what?
@samherb17 жыл бұрын
Some people who have the ability to think logically don't think that pretending a boy is really a girl is helpful. A four year old child doesn't understand sexuality. This is basically child abuse.....not "children's rights".
@elizabethingermann59117 жыл бұрын
samherb1 which is why transkids' identities should be respected. Pretending Trinity was a boy was hurting her, and conversion therapy is abusive especially for children. What the school was doing to her was child abuse.
@elizabethingermann59117 жыл бұрын
samherb1 born with a penis, yes. But that doesn't mean much. The xx vs xy chromosome thing is a gross oversimplification and gender/sex/sexuality is way more complicated than "does the baby have a dick longer than one inch" (and yeah, that is the official medical determinant for what goes on the birth certificate). People talk about how men and women have minds that work differently, then want to say that the only determining feature for who is what is genitalia? That's simply not how it works. There are gay guys who like to dress as women for fun, and many straight guys who enjoy it too for that matter, but that's not what Trinity was experiencing. She didn't just think wearing mom's shoes and acting girly was funny, she was sullen and depressed at being addressed by a boy's name and wearing boys clothes. Gender isn't just a fun thing for her, so we can discount that right off. It isn't an act. What is more probable, is that she has mixed genetic coding with regards to gender. So she got male primary sexual characteristics, and female mental wiring. As for how it helps to treat her as a girl, rather than a boy. That's pretty obvious if you have payed any attention to this at all. She was about ready to kill herself over being treated as a boy, and she would not have been the first trans kid to die from the stress of being denied her reality. Transphobia has fatal consequences. Letting trans people be trans does not. It is a simple moral choice: condemn a child to long term suffering and a probable early death, or let her be a girl. There is no downside to Trinity being treated how she wants to be treated. It hurts no one, so why should we try to force her into a box she doesn't fit in? What good does that do for anyone?

I'm not always sure what I think about this but who asked me? No one. So I shut up and let people live their lifes. And treat transgender people like humans because well that's what they are. They deserve respect and love too (of course!). There is REAL problems like wars and child marriage and homelessness and some people are wasting their energy on this, like shouting all over the internet that being a trans is wrong/a problem when it's not?? She seems to have a good family and she seems to be safe so isn't it all that matters to us who won't even know her? There is children with abusive and dangerous parents and they don't say anything on it but this, oh this is a huge problem this is so wrong they can't live with this thing!!!! It doesn't affect your life. Let them be. Let her be. All that matters is that she's happy. It is not your problem. No one cares do you think if it's right or wrong, no one wanted your opinion. It is not your thing to decide if someone should exist or not. They're not terrorist, murderers etc. they're just fucking humans who feel like they've been born in the wrong gender/body. They don't harm anyone unless they're mean or whatever as a person. Someone like this getting more rights isn't taking away anything from me. From us. If like transgenders got more votes or like more money then it would affect me but this? No.

@aden-lj7wb7 жыл бұрын
Sanni K ....I don't but ok. All problems are on different levels of severity but that doesn't make others irrelevant. Most trans youth that attempt to come out turn out to have abusive parents, so since that specific problem seems to be up there on the top of the list for you from your first comment, there you go I guess. For perspective, I'm a queer black kid with minor mental illnesses and immigrant parents. Problems are a huge part of my life. But that doesn't mean I'm going to put down other issues that I don't know about in detail or don't concern me.
@sannik93997 жыл бұрын
aden/a You really didn't understand... I meant that being a trans shouldn't even be a thing to debate or be mad about because it isn't a problem itself and they're people like all of us. I didn't mean that trans people don't matter etc. ! And I did not mean to put other problems down, of course not. But one being a trans, (just being, I'm not saying that the problems they face aren't real or don't matter) isn't a problem right? And there are people who waste their energy shouting all over the internet that trans people shouldn't exist/it's wrong when there are problems like wars etc. that they could be using their energy instead. You didn't get my point, I did not mean that trans people's suicide attempts etc. don't matter. I meant that I don't understand why people think being a trans is wrong/a problem.
@sannik93997 жыл бұрын
aden/a And I also meant that it's so odd that some people are so mad about one being trans but don't even think about "real" problems like the ones I mentioned. Because being trans isn't a problem. I could have chosen my words better but I really can't say the thing how I would like with this language. Or I could but then it would be like a school essay 😄

I've never been intimidated as a woman when a trans lady uses the restroom. If anything, a trans lady would have more problems using a male restroom. I used to work in an area with many gay clubs and I can tell you there have been no issues. The issues stem from individuals who have preconceived notions that they may pose a threat because other individuals may say they identify as a gender to harass a woman. No person who identifies as female would do that, it's about comfort. Legislation like this would not stop a man acting in inappropriate ways since they would do so regardless and enter a restroom to do the terrible deed.
@svvampvvitchy7 жыл бұрын
It made me so, so happy that this little girl has such an amazing family and is getting the support she needs, if not at school at least at home. It's easy to think about Transgender rights in a really abstract way, but to see the very real impact that discrimination has had on this family's life was a heartbreaking reminder that when we talk about Transgender rights what we're talking about is people. And not just adults who are more equipped to handle negativity and prejudice (although nobody should have to endure this), but children like Trinity as well. We have to do better.

@allisondoak94257 жыл бұрын
max olsen Anderson this kid has had an implant that postpones her body's natural puberty. She has not had any medical treatments that are permanent. As for the damage to her psyche, as an adult transgender woman my teenage years in the closet have caused me severe long term damage, damage which has stopped happening since I finally accessed transition. In one year three months I went from someone who was severely fucked up, someone who was suicidal with no ability to cope with day to day life to someone who is out passing her peers in her career, who has positive relationships and who has a future on this earth. I can only imagine how much better off I would be if I didn't suffer in silence for all those years. You can take your petty politics and slide them up against your prostate. Leave kids the fuck out of this.

Im not trying to make light of the tribulations and emotional distress you went trough,I had kind of a tough life myself in a different fashion,long term emotional distress is no joke. I am having kind of a visceral reaction from the idea of artificially altering children in this fashion,. I submit to you , we do not really know at this early age what types of observed behavior is derivative of the parents own behavior or what is a "genuine" symptoms of a problem. As for politics: I know these times are chaotic, would prefer politics wouldn't apply to this particular subject,I don't think it does any favours to anyone other than dividing us more.

Hormone blockers... Sheesh. That's a little bit too much. When i was a little boy i wore my moms clothes and lipstick for fun. Then i hit puberty and grew up to be a man without any gay or trans tendencies. If i was put through hormone therapy as a kid i would be really fucked right now. KalebCanadian by no means was I trying to invalidate the feelings of grief a trans person might have. Everyone deserves to be what they are. That being said, would you let an eight year old make a life defying, irreversible desicion of this scale? If she misses her puberty, her genitals won't develop, which means a sex change operation won't be possible. Too young.
@stephanie9567 жыл бұрын
hormone/puberty blockers are 100% reversible, and all they do is put a halt on the puberty that occurs with a persons biological sex. if she were to change her mind, the implant can be taken out. if not, the implant is only effective for two years anyway, as stated in the video. and i don't believe referring traditionally feminine things as 'gay and trans tendencies' is certainly the right way to put it. i believe all that matters right now is that she is happy, unlike she was before her transition begun.

stephanie odonnell so you're saying you can hit puberty whenever you want on damand?
@stephanie9567 жыл бұрын
Yegor Himself no what im saying is that the drug simply delays puberty, and it does not erase the process of it. you can't 'miss' puberty because of it. to my knowledge, it blocks the testosterone in her body which would, without the blockers, stimulate male puberty, which is quite obviously the opposite effect she would want. this isn't a permanent solution, it's like the pre-process of actually getting estrogen put into the body, which THEN would be irreversible.

The most important thing to learn in this life is that your rights do not supersede the rights of others.Keep pushing this issue and there will be no rights at all. I see the issue as a disability issue. Until you transition, when you are an adult, you have a disability issue related to the medical problems caused by being transgender in a biologically gender di-morphic world. That doesn't give you the right to encroach on the privacy rights of female or male students who do not have your medical issues. There should be private bathrooms available for disabled students to use. I'm ultra-liberal and logical. This is not a religious issue for me. If I was a raising a child with this disability today I would ensure that they have the counseling needed to understand how their disability fits into the wider biological world they spring from.

What was that youth's name before she was Trinity? I'm taking a guess. Trevour. Somebody may ask her in person.

Legit question, please don’t be angry with me - Why do we even say “trans gender girl”? She’s a girl. That’s it.
@algonzalez68537 жыл бұрын
because trans is a thing and cis another
@reemtri7 жыл бұрын
D G.G. Thank you. I understand that now. The term cis gender is for people who are born with typically female or organs and identify with the typical female or male characteristics... I just think the two terms are unnecessary in my opinion. A trans gender female and a cis gender female in both scenarios is a female in my opinion. Perhaps I’m just a bit idealistic or naive or wrong lol

If they were really a girl then there would be no need to transition. That's the whole point..

Not to be disrespectful, but can somebody explain to me the difference when you say transgender woman or transgender man? I mean, when you say transgender woman, do you mean she's a woman now or that she was born a woman? I actually don't get what the most used term is.
@amilycolon51427 жыл бұрын
Anti Nulled A trans woman is someone who was born male and transitioned to a woman. A transman is someone who was born female and transitioned to a man.

I dont think homeschooling was the best choice, thats what the school wants. Not have to deal with the thought of transgender individuals.

I am glad Trinity has a wonderful mom that fought for her. I love this and hope that she is thriving! Kids are dying, eff this "bathroom debate" You need to go, use the bathroom of the gender you identify...WASH YOUR HANDS (my only concern) and get back to class
@uppiafamily23367 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why public places just don't offer a third bathroom option. Every public place has at least two sets of bathrooms. If they make a third bathroom option that would solve this entire problem. You could just label the restrooms as : Male, Female, Family or Other.
@puccittv59146 жыл бұрын
Amya Corbin-Ender some do but trans people feel that they aren't being accepted or are uncomfortable with that option.

Even though I'd like to be able to use the male restroom, I currently use the neutral one in my school and its better bc its a private one. Lockable door and soap and everything.
@Tina060192 жыл бұрын
I hope for the best for Trinity. Little kids certainly should have free access to a bathroom that they will use. But I do not think that adults with penises belong in women’s prison. If an intact male adult comes into our dressing room at the gym, I can find another gym. But female prisoners cannot get away from male-bodied prisoners.
