One way to determine if disc launcher is really useless is testing it against helix racks. Does helix rack perform the function of a guided weapon better than disc launcher now? I think people are upset it can't be used the same way, and I am too. I liked discs and how they functioned, I'm going to miss it.

Just yesterday posted games with like 12 kill gamesvs players on cpc with disc 12&8 6star surge.. great guided weapon now, dont even use splash implant anymore since its heavily affected by dmg reduction (still can annoy or scare people to be hit, the mind is your enemy not the mech😂)

disc launcher should still do frontal damage from wall or ground shots. Sure take away double damage from back shots but to weaken it even further is kinda lame.

I’ve never played a game that nerfs meta weapons and doesn’t give some kind of compensation. When a game will nerf and buff whatever they want whenever they want, the players lose trust, and the game starts to die. Unforunitly that’s what it looks like will happen with Mech Arena now. Trying to dress up nerfs while not addressing the trust of their players. Not a smart move.

Agreed. I think both DLs and Arcs needed to be nerfed, but I believe Plarium went too far.

Maybe something to keep in mind while reviewing, is that those weapons perform very differently for mobile players or PC players. I love my nade launchers because it is easier to aim compaired to disc or even the bubble weapon. On mobile i cant go with vertical aiming the whole time and that is the main issue i have with disc and bubble weapon.

Comparison of these weapons was must, at least for me... Ngl I hated Nades for a long time but now I feel like Nades is the only go to weapon as a replacement of DLs (sadly) coz Nades got decent radius and solid potential along with availability, also many players now have Lodestar gotten from that crate rush for 80k credits per spin so overall it's gonna be a great build for FTP players at least, well thanks a lot and agree with you Scape! 😊👍🏻

I feel very cheated, bought the arc12s months back and finally got enough blueprints to get doubles, and i also got maxed legendary implants for both arcs and disks. Both are now borderline useless given im in the 10k sp range

I got DL 8s 1 month before the balancing and i was so lucky to get the epic damage and radius implants of DLs, i upgraded the implants to 4 levels and man! i dominated the arena, i used to kill mechs from 120 m ranges, in cpc i won all matches because of it, i used to kill any mech, even 5 star brickhouse, with back and side splash damage, and then my luck ran out, DLs got debuffed and now It sucks, i hope atleast we get side and back damage bonus for DLs. :( And scape I love yr channel, keep it up bro, just waiting for F2P battle log ep16.

It still has the back and side damage modifiers but you need to hit directly now not just wity aoe, which brings it in line with every other weapon. It's fair. The other nerfs to it not so fair though.

Remember when DLs used to require some skill to use more effectively? All that tome spent training to break the auto aim to get back and side damage. Gone. The spent resources on upgrading the weapons and implants. Gone. What do I replace them with? Nades I guess. Time to spend more time learning how to get good with nades. Time to waste more resources on upgrades, implants, and pilots. All of which I don't have. The DLs did needed a bit of a damage nerf but this literally took away any and all developed skill and threw it out. There is no reason this needed to have practically all indirect damage taken away. It was too much. But that's exactly what they wanted. This really is turning into another War Robots. The whole "out with the old and in with the new" bull shtick marketing. Force players to burn resources on something and then make that something obsolete. Then make them do it again and again and again... Not like they care about feedback anyway. Especially from free to play players.

@@PyroRobo I can’t remember exactly when they went free, but it’s at least been months. Probably a year. As the world of mobile gaming goes, things change. Typically in a rapid way. Having something remain so strong in the game for so long seems pretty fair to me. I know discs had a good amount of work to get used to, but metas do need to adjust and evolve. And in mobiles games you can’t count on things staying as they are long term. And from what I have heard of war robots, meta stuff and balance changes dropped every month to make things obsolete quickly. I don’t think Ma is closer to that level yet. I know these changes can suck, but I don’t feel it’s a fair comparison.

@@scape211 I respect your opinion and honestly, I agree with you. I simply hope this sort of thing doesn't become as normal as the War Robots stuff. I've learned from first hand experience having played War Robots some years ago. Mech Arena isn't quite there. Yet. PS: I always appreciate a creator that interacts with their viewers. So now disks are really a guided weapon.. now it makes sense. but I still think they should increase its lock range if they really want to make it a guided like atleast 70 meters probably... Anyway, what do you think on its radius implant means after all this are they really imp to use now or not?

Helix racks are guided too, but they deal full damage irregardless of range. Why should the disk launchers be the exception?

Ive been using orion with DL8s so I think it has a lot of potential. Not sure if id exactly consider it end game, but still pretty decent. End game, I think DLs can work on stuff like orion, BH, and stalker. Orion seems the most well rounded of the 3.

What implants were used? Because early game when you get the DL8, you probably wont have good implants yet, and unlikely a legendary pilot.

Agreed. That’s why I use a mixture of only rare and epic implants and at best the epic pilot. That’s why I used Rosa when I played with the disc8s.

Still rocking the DL-12 on my Stalker, I feel the difference even with the Predator drive damage boost but not sure what else could work with it, maybe EM-12s, Sadly I don't have any other guided weapons that are good or high rank so a little stuck Using Nade Launcher 12s on my Hemlock which is working quite well!!

It’s better than any arc torrent before the grade update, damage is still decent considering being able to shoot around walls

Storm Rack has more damage (both burst and reload), better range/speed/radius than nades. Pre nerf DL were used in direct path so it's not like the indirect path of Nades is the big selling point. I think Nades are great and would work wonderfully on f2p accounts but I'm not convinced spenders would end up picking Nades over SR.

totally agree here. I know SR are top tier right now, but I think most know that. The question I hear most is about the 'replacement' of DLs. SR was already going into hangars without the DL nerf. But with the nerf, maybe more SRs will be in hangars or youll see multiple builds of them. But aside from that, I wanted to explore the other options most seemed to highlight as potential replacements.

What do I think? I think it's time that content creators grew some balls and ripped plarium devs a new one, instead of talking excuses for the company. Not really you.. I know your stance, but.. face to face.. they need to be told they're killing the game. Look at the interest dwindling down. So now $100 weapons in a dying game? I had 1 person on my list on last night. More problematic than the nerfs and lack of new content (maps) is the pricing. They have got to be insane with these prices. The more people leave, it seems the more they raise prices, as to even out the money they take in. Yes, we also need free implant removal, no matter how hard your friend thinks this is a bad idea because.. ugh.. dev salaries. Whoever is in charge of the game's financial structure doesn't know what he's doing and needs to be fired. I do not think this game will survive another year at this state or, if it does, you will have a very narrow set of players at the top just playing customs with one another and then, below, a large group of delusional and gullible people trying to play f2p. (you don't have to answer in public.. i just wanted to share my feelings)

it ultimately depends on where they want this to go. When they make big changes like this, it usually paves the way for their next moves. Like when they took away second copies in beta it sucked. But it gave us far more variety in hangars later.

the game service say nomad cool down even is the cool anf fun to nomad players. it is unfair to non sp droppers in tournament. i do not see any game like mech arena. crazy and unbeliveable develpoment in this game. become more and more trash and not worth to play.
