For me Personaly Airsoft is more about fun with freinds than tactics and Milsim but its really nice to see Lucas is acknowledging Airsoft and how he tries to integrated the fun of Airsoft and real Steel Shooting Drills and Tactics. Looking forward to hear more about the Event hes planning.

Airsoft is fun. But if you get a good setup, you can practice reloads effectively and test out allllllllll your kit. So there are legitimate uses to airsoft. 1. Have fun 2. Run your kit and figure out what works. 3.that involves changing mags.

And people who get into airsoft seriously, not for the whole roleplay aspect of it...but the fighting aspect, gear aspect and sporting aspect of it, come into the gun game leagues ahead. For instance 16year olds etc.

“A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.” Novritisch videos got me interested in airsoft. Airsoft served as a progression into firearms community. It’s been 4-1/2 years since I began on my journey, so to say. (I haven’t shot a semi auto yet... sadness), I decided to teach myself how to shoot. I eventually found John Lovell’s videos and from I discovered T.Rex from the Sidecar Review he did. I began watching Lucas’s videos and improved my perspective on the 2A and shooting fundamentals. I became an amateur historian in my own time and frequently spread the 2A message. And It’s come full circle. This is great.

As an American, Novritsch was THE guy who got me into guns, period. I went above and beyond and played and loved it. Then, that love transitioned to real steel...Lucas has a lot to do with that transition and trying to become the best shooter I can be. We need more guys like Lucas in both industries, constantly trying to bridge the gap. This was a great conversation...only a year late to the party lol

When building the airsoft field, you could look into building barricades and buildings with Concealment vs Cover in mind. Cover that protects you from real bullets could be made with any material that bbs can't penetrate, but Concealment like wooden doors or drywall walls could be made with stuff like paper or cardboard (cheap and easily replaceable as well) to better simulate gunplay. No more impenetrable doors!

Even if airsofters, by enlarge, are not interested in using airsoft as a training opportunity right now, i think its going to begin to grow. Lucas' videos are literally THE reason i started thinking about using airsoft to train. On the flip side, it will be a fun way to make some new friends and build bridges between the two communities. I've seen influence of this mindset building in some of the airsoft youtube channels i've watched, and i think its going to start getting bigger and bigger. This is going to be a wonderful evolution for both groups.

I think the event Lucas is talking about sounds really cool cuz there's people like me who live in a Canadian city where it's difficult to get Firearms and even if you own them it's hard to find a place to shoot them like I'm pretty sure indoor ranges in Canada don't let you practice reloads and stuff like that

I also want to put this out. The one thing that is toxic with the community are the rage videos. And there should be none of that. We would rather see the fun and good side of things. From getting there being there and getting set-up, playing the game having a fun time. While also being safe.

Civilian Militia factions need to be a thing. One of the airsoft events coming up that is local to me is actually allowing civilian clothes as part of the NATO faction.

i think the audience is just different when you talk about playing Softair with training in mind. It is more like a training session rather than an airsoft game, because you are just limiting so many factors that it just becomes slow and hard to control unless you have an Instructor behind your ass, pint pointing everything you do wrong. Lovely idea but hard to pull off, i think the best way to do this is hosting an event where Instructors have a special status(Like Marshalls) and can be rented by a team, but at the same time you give other players the chance to play a normal game

I believe that in order to make airsoft really popular and to gain the acceptance of society, field operators should concentrate more on family and fun events. I think milsim will never get out of its niche, it is too close to the stigma of war and especially DE or even EU is not a nation of gun enthusiasts. I know airsoft wants to be accepted but the way to get there is in my opinion wrong.

@qtsssim i never played a Milsim game. I only did cqb with my ccw appendix holster and my glock and spare mag and I couldnt even get a proper close engagement. Everytime I was about to fire you just the opponent shouting bang bang like it's the end all be all.
