Discussion with stars and producers of the Hulu original series, 'The Looming Tower'

On February 13, The Washington Post hosted a live discussion with stars and producers of the Hulu original series, “The Looming Tower.” Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Hulu notes the series “traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s and how the rivalry between the FBI and CIA during that time may have inadvertently set the path for the tragedy of 9/11.” The Washington Post’s David Ignatius spoke with stars of the series including Jeff Daniels, Tahar Rahim, Peter Sarsgaard and Wrenn Schmidt, and with the show’s executive producers Dan Futterman, Alex Gibney and “The Looming Tower” author Lawrence Wright. Former FBI supervisory special agent Ali Soufan also joined the conversation.

I knew John O'Neil from school. He was a great guy. We were Irish Catholic kids. He wanted to be FBI and I wanted to work at the UN.

I always thought it was funny how he applied for fbi as a joke in the beginning and it turned out he was so great at it. While he’d make a great director, I wonder if he just became burned out due to the extreme things he ended up being involved with. Maybe we wouldn’t have seen his talents of the world wasn’t in such danger at that time tho. Crazy how things work out

I so enjoy listening to Larry Wright speak. He’s so knowledgeable. I can’t even .... _________ fill in the blank.! Probably going to get Hulu so I can watch the show
