In today's video I talk about A disease we have in a high tunnel. In high tunnels the only source of ventillation is the sidewalls. This year it's been so cloudy and wet that decides stayed closed a majority of the Spring. With this weather issue we've been having the humidity levels inside the high tunnels increased. This caused Gray mode issues. The way to fix this problem is to spray fungicides or increase the amount of ventillation.
If any questions let me know!

You need either end wall vents or roof vents. That's what I do.

Botrytis sucks. You can keep a small plant spray bottle with Daconil and then spray on the stem areas that are affected and it will usually take care of it if caught early

Hey Dre! Great video as always. That red deuce variety always produced amazing fruit for us. We just planted our primo red and supersonic tomatoes (early variety for us) If you have a second I was curious how much you sell your tomatoes per pound at your market? Thanks again and have a nice day!

Thanks for tuning in. We are selling our #1 for $3.75 /lb. Whenever field tomatoes come in production we dropped down to 3.25 or 3 depending on the market

@@farmerdre1 Here in Oklahoma I can get $4.25 a lb for Red Deuce and Big Beef slicers. People go nuts for them here and most don't grow them.

With this disease will you need to treat the soil to rid the spores from future problems?
@theveggieboys
@theveggieboys 4 жыл бұрын
Alice Serna He shouldn’t have to treat the soil, however me may need to use bleach to clean the inside of the greenhouse after he finishes harvest. I’m sure he has it all planned out already.

Dre, what type off sprayer do you use in the hoop house? I've been using a backpack mist blower for several years now. They use a lot less spray and get up under leaves and stems and speed up the job over three times faster, very important with seven hoop houses. I'm going to try traps of bad tomatoes in five gallon buckets around my Triple-Crown blackberries. I use this trick in my packing house. I keep any bad tomatoes in a five gallon bucket, four or five times a day I mist pyrethrin or Malathion over the bucket hitting the gnats as they fly up. After a few days the gnat problem is gone. Just use a finger powered quart squirt bottle. If you have a gnat problem this works wonders.

I was JUST saying how there are fake youtubers. I was curious on who this genius "john Kempf" was so I listened to his intro video. "What is regeneration farming" In it he says, "Plants need to absorb water-soluble ions. Rolling my eyes. WHAT kind of Ions? This guy reminds me of the movie idiocracy. Where "electrolytes" (ionization) are critical to farming. I'm still busting up laughing my head off

Ox AO there’s nothing fake about the results people get when following regenerative farming haha anyone with eyes can see that maybe one day you can can a real look into it not just see a 3 min clip. Maybe you should see Dan Kitridge of bionutrient food association but the videos are a few hours long don’t expect you to see more then 3 mins with your attention span
@OxAO

@@anthui4832 You suggested this guy John Kempf. I went and seen his intro video and it cracked me up because it sounded like he was trying to sound smart but clearly he had no idea what he was saying. I stopped there. Ok.. changing to another guy named "Dan Kitridge" I picked one that was about regeneration farming called "Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin: Building a Regenerative Ag Revolution | 2019 Soil & Nutrition Conf" . In it he talks about immigration of people from one land to form a small community. This is destructive and harmful how these immigrants changed the culture once they got there. I thought I was there to learn about plants? . at 33 15 he says we need to detox these immigrants as those they're a bacteria infesting? What the heck am I listening to?

Worst pandemic in US history even worse then the Spanish flu was the Hong Kong flu from 1967 through 1970. Woodstock was in 1969. During the end of the pandemic. The last two waves didn't spread that much even with people having sex in mass ogres in the mud. Take a guess why? . To be clear. I'm not defending people having sex in mass ogres in the mud I'm attempting to show how diseases end
