Why don’t you like Barcelona? For our Honeymoon my wife and I left Boston for our first international trip…being of Irish decent we stopped in Ireland (Dublin)for a couple of days before landing in Barcelona which we loved….Our cruise onboard Holland America’s Eurodam stopped at Monaco, we also went to Nice, France which we loved, and a couple smaller ports…We toured all of Rome, Trapani and Tunis, Tunisia before returning to Barcelona to end our cruise. Our trip home included another area of Ireland(West Coast County Cork) where our ancestors were went to the towns family had lived….finally returning* home and grateful for the experience.

Scary hearing you say how dangerous Termini is. I walked late on the quiet side to get to my hotel. I felt how unsafe it was, but thank God I was OK. I hated Rome my first trip many years ago and vowed not to return. I did enjoy it this one day. It's too crowded! But I have disagree, Barcelona is amazing! People are friendly.

I dislike Rome, it’s one of my least favorite destination! I’m not crazy about Barcelona 😂 you definitely don’t wanna be hanging around Termini at night.

I took the train from the port to Rome and it was commute time! We stood crammed together the entire trip, but I was in Italy so I didn’t care!

Thank you, Maria! We enjoyed the short cruise 😁 I don't have any advice for finding cruises like this, I just saw it on the MSC website, it was the cheapest cruise available. MSC are the only cruise line I have seen that let you join mid-cruise. Keep looking and good luck! 👍

Ben, where is your luggage? Im thinking you must have checked into your hotel and left it there before you saw your mom off? I have so many questions about that Port. My daughter and I are coming on the transatlantic cruise on march 29 from NY and going to multiple ports and finish at Rome. Does the train go to the airport?. Thank you for letting us know to be careful and not go out at night there.

No luggage, Terri! Only a 2 day cruise so only small bags. This port is not fun 🤣 You cannot do directly from this port to the airport by train, you need to take a train into Rome then another train to the airport, total time around 2 hours. Taxi will take around 45 minutes. Make sure you have your plans before you arrive! Good luck 😁
