Boondocks is a classic! This made me realize that both John Witherspoon and Charlie Murphy are both gone. RIP. They did amazing as voice actors! Hilarious characters. Uncle Ruckus is another famous guy as well but I can't think of his name off top. Uncle Ruckus probably has the most notoriety from the show bc it is a ridiculous character, a black man who says he is white but has reverse vitiligo and is racist against black people. It's like Dave Chapelle's black white supremacist but he isn't blind😅

Many characters in this show represent a stereotypical but relevant quality in a lot of people of similar races in 00's America from the creator's view. For example Huey, Riley, Grandad, Ruckus, and Tom all represent subsects within the African American community at the time that Aaron McGruder wanted to bring to light through personification so that he could comment on issues, ideologies, and relationships between personalities within these communities. Simultaniously Ed Wuncler and his grandson Ed III represent elements of how he saw white culture and behaviors. While Ed Sr is a jagged, cold, apathetic to downright cynical capitalist who doesn't shun Robert but has a laundry list of immutable characterists that he does, Ed III represents the young silver-spoon-in-mouth subsequent generations that didn't have to work to achieve that. Without much need for a drive in education or direction, Ed chooses to embrace what he idolizes most; that hardcore gangster culture. It's a form of power that his family is much more subtle about expressing, but a form of power regardless, something they're both well aquainted with. Ever seen Malibu's Most Wanted? Basically start of movie B-Rad to even more comical extents. Wuncler Sr can literally afford to pay his way out of anything his grandson does, so aomething they're both unfamiliar with is consequences.
