This episode pays tribute to the late Mary Kay Bergman, who voiced most of the female characters from Seasons 1-3 before her unfortunate suicide in 1999. The ending shows all the female characters she's played. RIP

When Trey Parker was potty training as a child, he would often forget to flush the toilet. His father told him "If you don't flush the toilet, Mr. Hankey is going to jump out of it and kill you." That was the inspiration for Mr. Hankey, but I don't know how Trey and Matt came to associate him with Christmas.

Btw sad fact: The reason they show all the female characters at the end is because not long before this episode dropped, the woman who did all the female voices committed suicide so it was a tribute.

I've got three things for you guys. BTW happy holidays to one and all. 🎄 1. I assumed that you'll watch this episode last as I don't see it as an "episode" by any means 2. This will be the last time we'll ever hear Mary Kay Bergman on this show. 3. RIP to the saint of a voice actress with the sound of the angle that she was.

The reason for the "fighting frizzies" segments 0:18 is because that is what is on during the only bootleg VCR recording of the Star Wars Christmas special, a local news bump with that line. they pay the joke off of course not with hair care advice but the glorious 15:08.

If they re-made it today, Santa and Jesus could sing "Baby it's Cold Outside." I think my favorite is Mr Garrison singing Merry F-ing Christmas. Do a KZbin search for "The most offensive song ever" (uncensored). But also censored for good measure. :-)

1:06 The idea for Mr Hankey came from Trey Parker's father Randy Parker (of whom Stan's father is named after), who would tell Trey stories that if he left the toilet seat up, Mr Hankey would pop out of there and get him! 💩😱

I remember at least on the TV website, this episode did get mixed reactions, like many were just expecting an episode, not a series of music videos. Overtime, it seems to have become a beloved classic. Although one of the funniest things to me is that they removed a song about the Virgin Mary as even they found it too offensive.

I'm sure someone will correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I want to talk about the "fighting the frizzies" promos real quick. My understanding is that those promos were from one of the only bootleg copies of the Star Wars Christmas Special (aired in 1978?) that was to any extent available. If you don't know about the SW Christmas Special, it is one of the most painful 2 hours of cashgrab insanity ever put on the screen. I believe George Lucas was quoted back in the day saying if he could destroy every copy of it in existence, he would.

Fun Fact about Dysfunctional: To make some extra money in college, he spent his summers in Florida Animal Themeparks as an attraction. We call him Dysfunctional, but to Floridians he is forever know as “Gator Tamer”; the fearless man who wrestled both Alligators and Crocodiles for show. His most memorable feats were putting a Gator in a John Cena STF and doing the Brock Lesnar Kimora Lock on a Croc.
