@hebequack9333 There was an early episode, an old one when Stan and Kyle fought because of a man in ice who was considered as a cave man (They were so mad at each other that they didn't finish their old typical phrase of "OMG, they killed Kenny. You bastards."). At that moment, Cartman decided not to antagonise them nor being a jerk with them. Once they became friends again, Cartman decided to antagonise them again.

That's why I believe knowledge corrupts, it's better to just live in the illusion. Most people are excited to get a new iPhone, all I see is a redundant product, made from child laborers mining in Africa, put together in sweatshops in Asia, sent halfway across the globe using fossil fuels, by a company that manipulates our psychology to get us to purchase their product, all for the sole purpose of making their investors rich. Once you acknowledge the reality, it's hard to go back to that childhood naivety/innocence.

It’s different for everybody though. Personally, I was never cynical about anything outside of myself when I was badly suffering from depression. I felt like there were a lot of great things in this world, but that I didn’t fit into it properly and couldn’t achieve, attain, or experience the great things that other people could. Now that I’ve progressed over the years to the point where my depression is only minor, I DO see the everything as shit. The more I experience, the less exciting new experiences become, and old experiences feel monotonously boring. Yet, I’m still much more content with my life now because I’ve learned to focus on the things that I love as well as appreciate the small things in life

So, I almost broke up with SP after this episode. It hurt me. I was an AVID fan and truly looked forward to the new episodes each week. I have a lot of mental health issues and I kid you not when I say that waiting for the new episode was the only thing I had going at the time (I’m telling something historically accurate here, not saying that’s an ok way to exist, ok, fam?) I had real problems drowning me as well as a spike in my own depression and I just wanted to laugh at the new South Park. And they gave me…. this. I also was in the group that thought it was signaling the end of the show, so as well as being emotionally wrecked by that ending, I thought I was losing my favorite show. When the new season started, I was like… Oh… maybe my perception of things isn’t … y’know… accurate. I now really love this episode. It’s such a raw look at depression. We feel horrible for Stan. It’s not fair what’s happening to him. But we also understand why no one wants to be around him. It’s really one of their best episodes. I just was NOT in the right place to watch it when it first aired. But, hey, I’m still here! I turned 40 last year and people were like, “Don’t be sad that you’re the big 4-0 now.” And I was like, “Sad? SAD?! Why would I be sad?! I am STILL HERE! I have to fight my own brain every day just to function and have to sometimes literally convince myself not to die on purpose. And my badass self has made it to FORTY while doing that!” Hang in there, everybody.

I was 14 when this episode came out. Even at that time, I remember many fans of the show, including myself, felt that South Park was getting a bit stale. However, this particular episode shocked many of us, as it seemed to hint that the show was going to end soon. Ironically, it was this episode that made me truly appreciate Trey and Matt on a whole new level. Now I'm 27, and... wow, I REALLY get this episode now.

I’ve definitely had the same experience as Stan. When I was a kid so many things felt magical, taking a trip to the city, my favorite music, summer vacation, the idea of traveling. There was just the sense of awe and wonder that permeated so many things and then sometime around my sophomore year of college, I just lost that feeling somehow. Everything just became, colder and more realistic…Nowadays things are still enjoyable enough…but nothing has the same magical feeling that they did when I was younger.

i was the same age as the boys when South Park first aired in the late 90's. this episode felt so surreal at the time it came out. it felt like South Park was truly coming into a different era. Like Matt & Trey were becoming more transparent and even vulnerable about how they felt about the show after working on it for nearly two decades. It felt like the best days of South Park were behind it and it was going to be ending sooner than later. Then "Assburgers" came out the next week and I realized Matt & Trey werent stopping anytime soon.

@@ProgazQQ It’s the fact that Claude doesn’t talk it just makes the cutscenes kind of awkward unless there’s 2 or more other characters in the scene actually interacting with each other, it’s the same issue with GTA online and it’s “story” cutscenes also awkwardly moving along with just one character telling the mute what to do. On top of the controls and all that being the bare bones that VC and SA were built and improved upon. GTA 3 is easily the worst game of the trilogy but that doesn’t make it terrible over all either, the impact it had on games following it was crucial

I think it started in season 12, (I could be wrong and I am too lazy to look it up right now) but from that point on South Park had running stories every episode that would build off of each other over time. Also, I don't know if Tween-Wave is a thing or not but I always thought it was a reference to Dubstep and how some adults at the time were embracing Dubstep to remain relevant and appear cool to their kids, even though they weren't actually big fans of the music.

This episode is both my favorite and least favorite episode. When this episode aired I was going through the same thing Stan was at the same time. My parents had recently split and my mom moved to Vegas to live with my aunt. Meanwhile I was stuck living with my dad which I really didn’t want. Seeing my very favorite character hurting like this and having his friends all turn their backs on him when he needed them the most hurt. As someone who has been in and out of depression all my life I wanted nothing more than to scoop Stan out of tv and hold him tight. I still do. Poor kid just wants to live a normal life but has a very shitty father and an inconsistent best friend. It took a while before I could watch this episode and the one that follows without crying. They love to put Stan through emotional trauma. I love him so much though.

When I've watched that two parter, that was when Stan became my favorite character, because I can totally relate to his struggles when it comes to friendships and points of views. Even in the pandemic special, I was totally Stan in that situation when it came to the two lockdowns, I was staying strong at the first one, but when stir crazy at the second one. Bro I’ve been waiting for this one too you on a roll, this is by far my favorite episode because it takes a real good look at depression and how it affects you the people around you and your family. Also deals with family issues well

I kind of wish he would watch the series in order instead of random episode but if he wants to do that it is fine with me just see he reacted to it makes the any episode 100 time better

Pretty accurate portrayal of depression. Felt like this for a long time and it sucks

This episode is legitimately disturbing... I hate cash for gold more than any other episode... But this is the one episode that's harder to watch for me... Harder than stanley's cup... Harder than Chefs demise... Harder than kenny dies... I'm so glad there was a resolution and even though it's actually not a resolution, It's like something because like... When I watched this episode I thought it was the end of the show... I was like holy crap they're just tearing it down and then that's it... Even though I knew it wasn't the end of the season emotionally , it felt like that because i've been attached to this show since it came out and it just hit so Close to home... It's so weird because it's like, No matter what else happens in the show like , this is just part of the canon of my life and the show , it's like... On a good day I can fight against it because I recognize it now... But on other days I just remember there was no way to Reconcile this except pushing through hoping To find more good days... I don't know... It makes me awkward honestly
