Considering they were vulnerable to both sleep AND poison...two level 10 rogues are able to single handedly kill the DLC characters, since they appear alone. Hell, Planair was DLC and she joined without a fight.

Actually, they haven't always been in that way. In Disgaea 2:DHD, they were obtainable right from the start and broke the main game since they were level 100, and Pleinair joins without a fight (and then you can use her to beat and unlock the others). They probably changed the policy afterwards once they realized how broken that was.

DLC characters? Nope. They remain in the Post game only,it's always been that way. If I had to guess,they do that because when the player starts the game for the first time,they might have problems recruiting that DLC character.

well, she mention that it was for Adells sake, so this is after Disgaea 2, maybe they just wanted to give her the air of the Rozalin from the beginin of the game

Have you beaten the story of Disgaea 4 yet? Most DLC can only be unlocked if you have already beaten the main story or already in the Postlude.

I've never played Disgaea 2: DHD,just the original. First DLC characters for me was with Disgaea 3. But that is an interesting point about Dis2 DHD,I wouldn't have known that.

Well, in Disgaea 2 ending it was extremely obvious that Rozalin IS the reincarnation of the true overlord Zenon...

@Reiyohiiragi Beat the main storyline first. If you start a new playthrough,you will have to re-fight them to get them back. Keep in mind,this tends to happen with story characters as well,but don't worry,when you get them back,they will have the same stats and equipment when you last left them.
