Disgaea 5 - VS Super Overlord Baal (Completed)

Despite saying the 10 billion damage trophy guide was the "end" of my coverage, I've decided to go back on my word and take on Super Overlord Baal for a final showdown to end* my coverage right.
So whats different about this fight and the last time I attempted it? In all honesty the only real difference is my approach, which is the genius of Disgaea.
In my last video I forgot that I got rid of the curry recipe I was using to increase my INT so I could have a better chance of defeating Carnage Dark, which lead me to incorrectly believe I was nowhere near powerful enough to win the match. Shortly after my original video I realized this, but still wasn't quite sure how to go about defeating the four Ball Bits. However, when I saw OmegaTaishu's video where the person took them all out with a squad attack, I joking mentioned that the main thing I took from the video was that I forgot that attack existed/worked that way (a lot of stages are designed to prevent such a tactic, so it would make more sense for each direction to be its own squad, than have each group of enemies be their own squad. Plus a lot of top tier enemies or stages don't utilize groups like this, so it is easy to forget in post game. Especially when you start to rely on LD). This resolved my two basic problems, but I didn't want to bother with the possibility of maybe winning just because the tools were there.
That is until I was at work and thought "I wonder if Majorita's overload would work here?" At this point I pretty much had to attempt it and I figured I could do it if I kept adjusting my tactics and planning ahead. Took about an hour from there to realize which pieces I needed, how to go about resolving those problems and then having everything go just right. At the end I think I could have won without confronting the last bit, but I think we can all agree that it is so much more rewarding to get the final hit yourself.
Anyway, big thanks to OmegaTaishu for inadvertently helping me win the fight and everyone else who has put up with my ramblings, so so knowledge of the series and long winded posts. Hopefully I'll see you in the future or at least the next time I do coverage of an upcoming NISA title.

The way Baal disappeared on defeat reminds me of old Final Fantasy games where the boss characters would slowly dissolve into pixels and would often show the sprite descending downward in a manner like Baal did as they dissolved.

Came back to this post D6 trailer, this scares me for whats to come. This incarnation of baal was already beyond absurd, the most endgamey thing I have ever seen in a videogame, with the new caps this fight will only get even more overwhelming.

Go through the entire game defeating every enemy/boss in one shot as a level 2000. Only dispatching one party member per battle and never taking any damage from anything. Get to this fight. Can't even take units out of base panel without them instantly dying. Here I thought I already spent an insane amount of time farming....ain't nobody got time for this.

+Daemoshiin Belmont "Have you beaten Carnage Baal?" Nope. If you actually followed my videos/comments you would have saw I never intended to beat original Baal either. I just so happened to be at a point where it was possible and a random comment I got gave me an idea, which lead to me defeating him a few hours later. With that being said, I would have loved to have defeated Carnage Baal, but I had to make a lot of sacrifices to get as far as I did in Disgaea 5 and had to give it up for Destiny: The Taken King. This is one of the downsides to being a game journalist, but I am still thankful for the support I got throughout my run with Disgaea 5 and enjoy answering (some) of the questions I get. It really is a great series and I truly hope more people experience it.

"could please tell me how u went about getting such stats as wit " in Disgaea 5 there are other ways to get to this level of power without outright going for certain things. Like I have 40,000 Hard Worker innocents, but you could achieve the overall same effect with Mentors and those aside, you could outright achieve the same end goal by passing bills or just leveling the item more. But I don't think a long list of how you could do what I did differently is what you want, so here is what I did in the order I more or less did it. Made a Sage at level 1 Gave it two flag weapons (boost stat gain) with various stat boosting evilities Raised her from level 1 to 9,999 something like 11 times Started doing the Asagi stage where I leveled her Stave mastery to 100 and then switched to magic Mastered every single subclass besides one (I intended to master the last one with my video guide, but forgot and only mention it now as a random joke/comment. I also intended to change her name to Victoria instead of the random name she had, but never got to that either) Applied roughly 10,000,000 worth of shards/extract to her and four others Went into Item World and leveled an Arcadia to get a Trap, whatever the R39 wand was for the Genesis Wand and then leveled the Ygg I got from my GW run to be her main weapon. During this time I also breed a single 50,000 Hard Worker. Went into my trap and duplicated it several times eventually resulting in getting like 8 of them, three of which were over level 500 and 40+ 50,000 Hard Workers. while doing this I also unlocked all the squad abilities. Went back and defeated the Carnage Prinny, Miss Evil, Chara World and Carnage Dark for slots. Did Chara World a bunch of times for various perks and got my INT aptitude to 300%. Applied all of this to my Sage with a combo of evilities that worked well with my equipment. I also switched my tactic from winning a long game to blowing shit up for this video. Exploited various mechanics and defeated Baal.

I don't quite remember as I had the vita remaster version n lost my save but the whole tactic was doing multi item god killings mean using grinding for gency exit dupping items with guardians and putting them on my max out traps

In the end, much like the point I was trying to make in my long winded description, Disgaea offers many routes to the same destination and I think thats awesome.

Use the Double Bladed evility or its upgraded version to dual wield. They both come from the Ability Squad.

El Hermano. Jiren’s older and smarter brother. Killia is the goku of overlords he got ssjg then later attained blue plus the dude can use the freakin macrocosm as an attack that’s crazy void, zeroken and goldian as well. I guess they aren’t the ancestor of some of the earlier franchise characters for nothing and I know it ain’t confirmed but it’s obvious this takes place even before the makai kingdom that means they fought Baal at probably his strongest

Yh your right Baal fights are difficult to tell if it’s canon but they more than likely probably are as it could make sense why he always lose too. So using five as a base by saying it does take place in the past because there are hints that depict so. Ok now let me get to the point, since baal is in celestial hell here it’s assumed they found a way to seal him and then Killia party fought him and one and from every time he fought and lose he’s bin getting weaker and weaker each game as it seems like it

+228zip There is another Baal fight that is significantly harder (under the set up shown in this video I can't even get my Sage out of the base panel for that fight). +Zulfurstacmasti Thedic There is more to it than that. I believe the evilities are different, like the Ball Bit can attack twice if they don't move, a few things related to distance that I don't recall and things like that. There are also minor differences, like the generic units are different and basically everything has 99,999,999 stats. I would upload it, but it is a lot of effort for minor differences that a very small percent of the player base will even bother attempting.

ITS from Game itself. Another DISGAEA doesnot get bonus KILLED from you KILLED enemies. From DISGAEA D2 until DISGAEA 4 5 ITS get bonus stats every you KILLED one enemy. ITS get 0,5 percent from enemy stats

Been a while since I did it, but if I recall correctly, it was to limit the number of units that could possibly die on a turn and prevent situations where the AI acted differently than normal.

I was gonna be lame and say DD2 was much harder, but then I read "Fully Fight the Super Overlord" and got excited. Silly me for not actually looking at the stats and numbers. I still cant believe the sage's abilities though! Wondering if you can get the sage's abilities reincarnated to a monster or unit of any kind, but that's just silly wishful thinking. It seems the time sink curve is about the same as D4 and DD2, I'm hoping that D5 is even more of a time sink though. Really stoked about receiving my copy.

The thing I learned about in Disgaea 5 was that stats wasn't your main way of doing a lot of damage, It's the Evilities and Overloads. Even though Baal had inferior stats in this video he was able to do 48 billion damage. hope this helps anybody who's shooting for high damage this time around. Your Evilities matter a lot for damage

+Gabriel Lanier The AI can't target a character being held, so if someone is being held, they're basically immune to damage. So if four bosses attack, each of which is capable of killing me, I simply sacrifice four allies so my damage dealer will still be alive.

Have characters Reincarnate at 300% aptitude on all stats by using the chara world, get 3 land of carnage trapezohedrons and level them up till they get a killing bonus of 400 and make sure it has max hp innocents whilst leveling and stack all that with a elixer curry with 100 thimbles for 100% crit as well as a massive amount of HP.
