I think it's been pretty well established that while Etna is the only one with any hope of beating Laharl (at least when they're both at full power), Laharl is still stronger.

Um I'd say that the other protagonists Have a genuine chance at beating laharl Hell i'd say Valvatorez in his tyrent form could beat laharl But yeah Laharl is more powerful than etna

Lord_Lui It will never be told by Nippon ichi, but after going so deep in the series I realized. If Etna could beat laharl, she would have done it a already, maybe that's what the next disgaea d3 will be, all about laharl fighting to get his throne back, I be funny as hell.

DBfan well, after replaying Disgaea 4 I came to the conclusion that most Hades demons are actually pretty weak on their own. They heavily rely on outside sources, like fear energy and in Valvatorez's case, blood. In other words, tyrant Valvatorez is only powerful because he takes power from human blood, but his base form, where all the power he uses is purely his own, he is way more powerful than the average demon, but less powerful than Laharl. Mao and Laharl are quite possibly equals in power. Adell got his ass kicked by Laharl. I haven't finished Disgaea 5 yet, so I don't know how Killia measures up. So far, the most impressive main characters in the nipponichiverse are Mao(destroying the universe), Laharl (beating Baal repeatedly), Zetta(replaces Baal in Disgaea 4) Valvatorez (slaps God, though it's implied that wasn't really God, or at least not even close to a fully powered God) and if he lives up to the hype, Killia. Please no spoilers for Disgaea 5.
