As soon as Henderson went to Saudi Arabia, that was his international career done, in my opinion. To be considered, you must be playing at the highest level domestically. Occasionally, I know players are picked from the Championship, but there are too many players performing well week-in-week-out in the Premier League.

Unfortunately this is something I see even at work where you'll have people that deserve promotions or a certain job and yet the manager or company director would just pick one their mates or one of their fravourites regardless of whether they're performing or not. On top of his squad selection even his tactics are wrong for me. Whenever we play in a tournament he will set up the team to not lose rather than setting it up to win. That's where you can see used to manage relegation sides as any top manager like a Klopp or a Guardiola would just set his team up to win the game. As a collective England as one of the best squads in the world at the moment. If he was more ambitious we win Euro 2020. Would have made the final of the World Cup in 2018 and I think would have got the final in 2022 too. If Southgate was Man City manager he would probably bench de bruyne for Phillips.

It is getting to the point where if Southgate isn't gone there is going to be a generation of young English players that are playing elsewhere. Gordon been arguably Newcastle's best performing player this season a Euro U21 winner and player of the tournament with no hope of a call up. It's these type of players coming out of the u 21s that will go elsewhere if the family situation allows it. Livremento is another player touted for a move elsewhere because they don't see a progression from u 21s to full international in England. Cole Palmer, as well as he’s played in a handful of games this season, would never have been looked at by Southgate if he wasn’t a Chelsea player, (signed from Man City). Maddison was only in after he went to Spurs. He barely got a look in at Leicester. Grealish only got a regular call up after going to City. Players like JWP, who perform for multiple seasons, will never get a fair chance under Southgate unless they get a move to a Sky 6 club. Disgraceful from Southgate!
