It's distressing that a journalist feels compelled to explain that interviewing a person is a worthwhile and necessary part of her job. But I guess that's just where we are now.
@florauwn9366

the reason why the victims denounced this interview is not because of tamron, but because of sherry wanting to use this interview as a platform to reboot her career. the 20+ victims tried to tell the show that this was sherry pie's plan (as after the announcement of the interview came out, sherry pie IMMEDIATELY put booking details up on her page).

In this interview all I see is her saying she is sorry, she regrets, and she is lonely. What about how her actions cast the drag or even the whole lgbt community as? Or the trauma these victim went through and have had to recover from through the years? I understand that she has been completely alienated but give me a break. ACTIONS HUNTY. Volunteering, making donations, rescue an animal, there are so many wholesome, positive things you can do. Idk why she thinks it's that important to us that she is going to therapy. Great you should go to therapy, everyone can benefit from therapy, but you reallyyy don't seem to be upset about what you did to me; you seem to be upset about the results of what you did and how it has affected you, queen.

I think this is fine due to what Tamron says ahead of it. It is not a problem to interview him. We at times hear from people who did horrible things and try to figure out how to stop them in the future. I hope the men who were victims will be given the chance to speak as well. And him admitting he did these things is the first step in making amends. He did that back then but now this is to a national audience. Also, he may have to face criminal charges and says he is more than willing to accept those. He was asked to do an interview and agreed. Viewers can watch or not. No one is forced to do so. But he has the right to speak and try to make amends and apologize again. The show has the right to interview people who agree. We do not have to like that.

Just because the reason of the deceit and false pretences is for a sexual end doesn’t make that means correct or right. It arguably makes it worse. There doesn’t need to be a gun to someone’s head to make something wrong. I understand all of that, but in our society, there are people who still want to understand the "why" behind the behavior. Some of the most horrible murderers, rapists, pedophiles and psychopaths have been interviewed in our lifetime, so why all of a sudden is Tamron getting so much backlash? Tamron has a job. Let her do her job. If you don't support her having this person on her show, don't watch. Don't give this interview your time or enery. Use that energy you're throwing at Tamron and actually use it to help your communities and bring awareness for the victims, because going on Tamron's social media and bashing her for doing her job doesn't help anyone. Boarderline Personality Disorder and sociopathy appear to be the behaviors he’s exhibiting, usually brought on by feelings of abandonment coupled with the lack of healthy behaviors of his upbringing. Mental health is like physical health - do we really expect to learn 100% from our parents how to be healthy? My parents couldn’t even teach me about sex so I had to learn it outside of the house.

Yes, he’s allowed to apologise and we should move on, maybe not forgive, but at least put it in the past and just pray joey gets help to make him really realise what he’s done!

Although I dont agree with Sherry Pie and her behavior this gig is such a one sided blame. As adults we are held responsible for our actions. If I am an aspiring actor there are things I wouldn't do for anyone. I wouldnt take drugs, masturbate on camera or perform sexual acts for a stranger or anyone else. Nobody is holding these grown men accountable for their irresponsible decisions. This is so one-sided its unbelievable. It's like telling a drug addict to blame the drug dealer but not the addict for taking the drugs.

That may be true but we don’t know the whole story,, the victims may of built up some trust with ‘Allison' and believed it was going to be ok. In a situation like this we can never blame the victim,, especially when a predator like Sherry has admitted to preying upon them. What they went through was degrading, painful and disgusting and they are not in the wrong.

@@novasmith4468 Sorry! Not buying it. I was abused as a child too. I never felt like a victim. It happened and I have to move on with my life. People just love blowing things out of proportion just for the sake of it. These guys willingly did what they did. Sherry Pie didn't hold a gun to their head. If their self esteem was so low they have to do these things to be successful then they may need counseling. They all need. counseling. Take responsibility for your part. @@ronaldmanning6752 That’s what I BEEN saying. As someone who was sexually abused three times before the age of ten, I don’t get mad but more so annoyed at the fact that people ONLY blame Sherry. They all admit that they literally ignored so many red flags because of the opportunity. Yet, Sherry never forced them to do anything and they had a choice. If they said no then none of this would happen but they wanna blame Sherry. Even Ben said his situation wasn’t as bad nor did he think that Sherry deserved to be DQ over his situation till more people came forward. So idk why they make Ben out as the “original victim” and he jumps at every chance to get fame from this scandal and even posted “I’m the one who wrote the post that begin exposing Sherry Pie” so he doesn’t care about the scandal he just wants the exposure since he wants to be an actor. Yea, let’s just ignore that part and focus on Sherry. Even then I feel like there is more to this scandal that we aren’t getting

The victims did also add fuel into the flames... How do you think sending nudes to an employer is a legitimate way to be applied? 🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾 My compassion is just limited in this case because they knew what that it was wrong (even if you chose to be this naive and think that Sherry Pie is a real employer). Still, this doesn‘t mean that what Sherry Pie did wasn‘t bad.

People do bad things when they’re a) trying to make their dreams come true and b) under the influence of someone more powerful than them, like a casting director for instance. We can blame the victims all day long, but ultimately consequences need to lie with the one who does the manipulating, the controlling, the lying. If you catch people like this and there are consequences, you make an example of them and hopefully the world will become just a little safer.

You know what? Interview R Kelly, Ted Bundy and whatnot. We know how straight cis males are, they have ALL the visibility in the world. But Sherry Pie, she gave our community a bad name, and as Tamron said, SP endorsed the stereotype for which we're being attacked by homobitransphobes on a daily basis. Thank you for nothing SP, I don't think you deserve visibility nor whatever sum you took for this circus. You got MONEY from your victims, and if it's over now just be classy and get a job

This is so heartbreaking and frustrating to watch. Tamron’s analogy about seeing crossdresser get assaulted has nothing to do with what Joey did, and a straight woman should not be explaining lgbt struggles to a gay man. She knows nothing because she has no experience. She cuts him off when he tries explaining what he’s doing to better himself and address the root cause of what makes someone do this - childhood trauma, growing up fat and gay, loneliness, resentment stemming from being “the other” your entire life. You’ve got to be pretty fucking dense for thinking HBO casting is asking you to send nudes and solo videos. I’m sure that’s not the only way he did it, but it was their decision to take a risk and send nudes on the internet. When you do that, there is no guarantee where it’s going or that the person on the other end is who they say are. This whole cancellation of Sherry Pie is rooted in homophobia and the bandwagon cancel culture mentality. Let’s show him compassion finally. That’s what this interview was for and Tamron repeatedly shut him down. Why even have him on? I wish him the best and will vocally support him.
