@Enough is Enough he did a duel catfish scheme, it’s a bit complex but I’ll sum it up. So he, as himself, would meet guys that were wanting to do tv or movies, you know get into the entertainment industry and tell them he knew someone. He’d then connect with them through email while posing as a woman named Allison Mossey. He AS ALLISON, would talk about a show with HBO and what she was looking for in terms of actors playing the character and everything else, and then direct them to deal with Joey (person in interview) because she trusts him. So then he as himself would meet them in person and describe what “Allison” wants and that for them to sometimes take steroids, do sexual acts on camera and other things that violated them but it was framed in a way that it was all for this big role on HBO and it was artistic but it was really just for him to...do what he wanted to do with that footage or relationship he made with that person. Then he would just stop contacting them. It was ongoing for a long time and something that some other NY queens heard slight whisperings of but no one had any idea it was as terrible as it is. He was one of the contestants on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 which aired last year when the pandemic began. The allegations- which he has admitted to- came out right before/during the premiere. He was subsequently edited out of the season even though he was one of the finalists. For so many reasons it’s just terrible and deplorable. Edit: I hope I’m not offending anyone or downplaying it. I just wanted to give a summary in order for people to understand.

He came very prepared. In fact, he had a whole year and a half to figure out how he was going to dig himself out of this mess. The reason why it was so sloppy on his part is because Tameron wasn't going to let him get that far. She did her research , knew what he was about and stopped him in his tracks every time.

Joey was most definitely not prepared. He did not think his interviewer was going ask him confrontational questions using loaded language about his sexual abuse and financial fraud. Tamron did not call his behavior "catfishing" to start. For instance, she asked him why he did it, and he says because "control" and also because he is "sorry." She asked him who would do this to a friend, and he said he did not know what to do - a PREDATOR. But remember, she's sorry.
@seriousyak4734
@seriousyak4734 3 жыл бұрын
@@ismaelgaeta8428 What I meant was that he came prepared with a set of ideas that he could throw out to evade and protect himself. Obviously he's not going to know everything she's going ask and he knows that. However, you should cue the reading. He looks down frequently and his eyes move ever so slightly. He's written out everything. He's had a year and a half to come up with excuses and it shows. He tried following a linear path.

I’m someone who hasn’t come forward publicly, and I don’t think I ever will because I don’t like being perceived as a victim- I also just don’t want to deal with his fans harassing me the way they have other victims I know. I just came here to say that what he did was more than just catfishing people. He manipulated eager young performers into doing demeaning things by holding an imaginary treat over our heads. I was 21 when this happened, and my experience with him is one of the reasons I’m still on antidepressants to this day. The amount of shame and embarrassment that he caused me had a lasting effect. I forgive him, but I will never forget what he did, and I think he never deserves to be in the spotlight again.

Maybe because it was an super awkward question to start with…? She is being tough enough throughout this interview, interrupting almost all his attempts to answer. So if that was her plan, whatever happened to common decency, and starting with 'welcome to my show' and all that? This was a nasty and rhetorical question, only meant to make him confess to more misbehaviour. It would have been more elegant to put that question later, and simply ask: were there many more victims?

Let me explain why he’s smiling every time and chuckles as he talks. As someone who has been through therapy for two years as a victim of sexual assault as well as childhood trauma. This smiling is something I used to do, it’s called “gallows laughter” it’s when you’re talking about something your uncomfortable with and you automatically try to emote differently to steer attention away from the seriousness of the topic... i used to do this every time I spoke of my sexual assault. & for years no one took me seriously because of it.. but in essence, I was just incredibly uncomfortable... I still don’t think joey has fully come to terms with what he’s done to others as well as accepted responsibility just yet.. There’s still a long way to go.. my heart goes out to his victims.

People want public apology, remorse, and receipts that they're doing something. He does this. "CANCEL HIM, WHY ARE YOU PUTTING HIM ON A PLATFORM!?!?!" There's a time where victims needs to STOP being victims and become survivors. They will not be able to move on with THEIR lives unless they forgive for THEMSELVES to be able to move on. As for Sherry Pie/Joey, this entire interview was him taking the blame for everything and owning up to everything he has done. That's more than a fuck ton of people would do on the daily, including people you know. We have people out here MURDERING others and pleading not guilty. Obviously what he has done is wrong, but you gotta atleast acknowledge the fact that he's completly open, honest and not defensive in this interview. His career will never recover, that much is clear. He didn't really have anything to gain from having done this interview, but he went on tv after the shitshow that was last year, apologised, and took accountability once more. I feel like the easier option would have been to change his name and never go on tv/social again. He's got balls, i'll give him that.

It's gone! haha He likely did take the interview to apologize, what's wrong with that? Would you rather he took the time to promote his new book? I'm sure going on public Tv to talk about something this dark and taking accountability for isn't easy.

If you genuinely believe that he's being honest without consideration, you might want to take a look into the whole situation. No body is going to give him a pass on anything he's done no matter how masterful at manipulation he is. Yes he had a year and what did he say? he took full and utter responsibility. @@Ryan-om5yi There are up to a dozen people now who have gone on record who have made similar allegation that you don’t deny after this interview do you anticipate that there could be more people that come forward with credible information that you did that to them too beyond those who have come forward? Ok, sure he did give an answer. But what I understood from the question was “are there more victims?” Point blank, that’s what I understood. Specially when she specifies “people with credible information”. So when he answers, i don’t know if after I do this, more will come forward, in my opinion he is evading answering the most important question “are there more victims?” About my comment of saving face, I don’t think it takes away, necessarily of him being sorry or not, but I do believe it is an attempt of reconstructing a public persona. I wouldn't imagine anyone giving him the time of day beyond this interview, I'm shocked even this happened. As for victims, do you really think most victims would be comfortable or accept an abuser out there spreading awareness for them? It seems like something that wouldn't work. I was so blind to the red flags because of the love I felt that I refused to see the reality of the situation for such a long time. When I finally discovered the truth, I went through a "breakup" with this imaginary person they had created and it hurt like a bitch. I moved on and I dont have any lasting pain from it. I dont care about it anymore and I don't feel the need to get justice or revenge for what happened. Hopefully the victims of Sherry Pie can move past their experiences too. As for Sherry, I guess a lot of people have stronger opinions about how she should repent - or be punished - than I do.
