This is a great example of minimalist horror! Most of it is just a pretty girl looking at inanimate objects and being frightened. Her facial expressions really carry it. No screaming, no reliance on blood or gore, and very little in the way of jumpscares. Well done!

Okay... SPOILERS!!! Immediately, I was infuriated by yet another story where someone hears scary noises and goes waltzing into harm's way without so much as a club or a blade to defend themselves. My rage only built until the reveal at the end, when you see why the girl wasn't afraid. BRILLIANT! That is the definition of subverting expectations! I expected when the real woman gave chase that the creature would have actually made it upstairs, and have taken the sleeping man's place. Denied again! Thank you for taking something tired and cliched and turning it into something fresh and worth watching again! Well done! :)

This is probably a corny interpretation lol but this reminds me of the concept of fighting a personal demon that has taken control of your life and robbed you of your identity. That demon could be anything, but I personally think about depression and how it makes you feel like you’re not yourself anymore. @@fieryhotwarts The monster was masquerading as the woman the entire time, from the start of the short, and the woman escaped her prison and attacked the monster with a bat, trying to reclaim her identity and life from the monster. The monster couldn't keep the disguise up at one point, and it was revealed how the monster really looked, before the monster shifted back into her disguise again.

I had a loft just like that. To a t. We had life size human dolls there. At the hand, we had a string attached. From my bed room, we could pull the string, and the doll’s arm would go waving, knocking to the floor. Scaring the shit out of anyone younger. this is incredible stuff! ive watched so many scary movies that i have a tolerance to those, all blood guts and screams, a final girl, whatever, but this is the true art of horror, i literally had to pause and go to the comments to get the courage to continue watching and im so glad i did! all i wanted was a little scare before i had to go to school, but i'll be looking over my shoulder for a doppelganger all day now!

Amazing short horror film! I really enjoyed it! I loved how you created the spooky atmosphere with the music and with the scarecrow moving places. I might not be a horror expert or something, but as a horror lover, I'll give some small advice for possible future films: When creating atmosphere before showing the monster, I suggest making that time a little bit shorter, because sometimes, the viewer might think that the jumpscare scene might never come and most of the times stop the video. Also, something that I noticed, people usually get scared and more nervous when the jumpscare is completely unexpected and closer to the screen. I don't know how to explain it "scientifically" but a close jumpscare creates more fear in someone's mind than one that is far away. Possibly because the brain realises that danger is closer. Anyways, as I said, I loved the movies and can't wait to see what you'll make in the future!
