i think toast is on a new path of self discovery and that's totally okay! we are all growing every single day little by little and we often forget that there are so many new things out there that allows us to grow into a better version of ourselves. there is definitely a reason behind his prolong stay and as fans we shouldn't question that, but respect it instead and continue to remind him that we will stand behind him. continue to wish him a safe and enjoyable journey because he earned it, toast does so much for us and the least we can do is hope him all the best in all of his endeavors.

1:42 note, I am unsure of Toast's travel status and Japan's specific laws, but most times when you travel to a country you get a travel/tourist visa that is only valid for a certain period of time, beyond that it can be illegal to stay and you need to apply for something else like permanent residency if you want to continue to live there.
@techsoly
@techsoly 2 жыл бұрын
Japan is very strict when it comes to residency as well. I believe you must relinquish any and all citizenship to any country you reside in if you want to live in Japan as well as already have proof that you'll be employed immediately upon living there. Also iirc streaming isn't considered a viable/realized job in Japan as they kicked out Hololive's Kiara as that was her job forcing her to move back to Austria.

Honestly I can definitely say that being out of the state is definitely something life changing when visiting other countries, I was in Europe for 2 and a half weeks and I felt more alive and just different, I guess it also had to do with how everyone is around you because of the surrounding of different cultures it just different of how they take in respect and behavioral wise it’s completely different then being in the state, idk how to explain but I guess the location just shapes you in a way. I felt more open and less anxious in a while when I went traveling, but now that I’m back in the state I feel weird because I was so used to being outside that now I feel like it’s somehow difficult to go outside idk, but the experience of going somewhere else does shape you into making new goals, so now Ima try opening up even if it’s a bit difficult when Im back to a place where I began to close myself, but I believe I can push through. Finding yourself or a place in general that interest you is completely fine, I feel like it’s making you learn more about yourself or shapes you into different positions of things. Being in the state isn’t a bad thing either or in general America itself isn’t bad, I’m sure all the states are different and just good in their own ways of how things are, including people and life style, but being out of the states is something that is just as life changing and great for a change of life.

a week (or 2) is a good enough amount of time "away" still to enjoy some things by yourself, or discover some other things. All he prob needs there before returning. I usually recommend the same thing if you visit Japan on the regular 1-2 week trips is a good amount of time to do things, but not get dulled down once it becomes "routine" in some aspects. Least that is what I learned on a yearly basis for the years (2014-2019) I was visiting (precovid). Then he can repeat a less stream/content time elsewhere down the line for a week or two. Best of course if you are interested in the culture in lots of aspects instead of just one/niche aspect of course. (unless you really, really enjoy that niche to an extreme and can make most out of say events for it during your stay.)

yeah this is partly why i don't rly agree with him and miyoung dating, it really doesn't seem like it'd work, but whatever obviously who am i to talk about it it just does kinda feel a bit 'forced' in a way, kinda like they were both around eachother and single and thought ehh why not, like they had a semi crush on each other as people do when theyre around attractive people but personality wise and how they _are_ doesn't rly match up imo. it doesn't really feel or seem or look like actual _love_ which is part of the issue ofc, so many people for some reason (libido? lust? false sense of what loneliness actually is?) hate being single/WANT to be in *A RELATIONSHIP* like regardless of anything, they just want to be 'With Someone' but more often times than not, it just kinda ends up making it all worse and turn to shit i dont rly understand that aspect of life bc i myself dont/have never really been in any relationships that i didnt see a girl and *felt* love/passion for them as opposed to just kinda... like... coexisting... in a 'relationship' sorta like 2 friends that find eachother attractive or so and happened to start dating and having sex with each other not necessarily friends with benefits but also not necessarily an actual good/proper/loving relationship because yeah people say it all the time and its in all the movies and tv shows, that ppl call their significant other their best friend, but in reality it shouldn't really be like you're both friends with each other its sort of more like family love, sort of like how you act with your siblings a bit (as in, in terms of playfulness and interactions, not anything fckin weird) which obviously makes sense because at the end of the day/lifetime, when you are actually in love the intention is of course to be together in _A family_ edit: right maybe went a bit off the rails there but yeah pretty much i feel like that all applies to toast, as parasocial and weird as it may seem. obviously nobody but myself actually knows exactly what i see/feel/think when i 'judge' a person, so ofc it probably looks and sounds weirdly parasocial like im watching their streams 24/7 and that's how i know, but no, its just kind of how they both speak, look, act, their body language and style and all that sort of shit rolled into one ball in my weird little head again off the rails but yeah i myself know im not being parasocial weird and as far as im concerned these are just 2 normal ass ppl that i can 'judge' and 'sense'(cringe word) that they aren't really that loving or in love with each other, at least toast 100% he's a lot more clear than miyoung because miyoung is a walking troll lol it's hard to get the exact idea of exactly how she is and what she'd feel but basically yeah, like janet for example was also kind of similar but imo she was definitely better suited to toast even if it went to shit while miyoung and janet are both educated and intelligent of course, there's like a certain specific type of inherent intelligence that's more important than any learned behaviour or education, that toast has and that he'd naturally seek in a partner /end actually no final edit: just a little extra thing to kind of make it semi clearer, john and jodi for example. they are both nearly perfectly suited for eachother. they both have the exact same kind of inherent intelligence and personality/humour that makes them work amazingly together. so yeah while toast may be "smarter" or big brain haha meme etc, its the same exact type of 'intelligence' that john and jodi have, its just that personality wise ofc jodi wouldnt work with toast for example. so its not all black and white and just bc someone is naturally intelligent OR similar-ish personality doesn't mean theyll work with toast. inherent intelligence and good/similar traits/personality aspects to toast is essentially the key 'identifier' i’m tryna say here, in what would ACTUALLY be good for toast and help him out of his weird emotional hole he found himself in atm, which again, i feel almost certain that what he has atm/with miyoung doesn't fit the category properly, because unless ive missed a completely random break up, theyd actually WANT to be together as much as possible, and the mere thought of one another should brighten up each other's days/moods, aka the way john and jodi are

He's 30 years old, and it's clear he feels the creator lifestyle isn't bringing him the joy it used to. He's made enough money to retire and life a comfortable life if he wants, and I'm sure everyone would understand. Then, if he gets the urge to come back and make a video or stream out of leisure in the future, it'd be better than seeing him act like he feels forced and trapped in this rut of constantly needing to entertain people. I did this several years ago before the pandemic. Went to Japan for a couple weeks stay and ended up staying for the duration of my 3 month visa. It was a time when I quit my job in the states and felt like every single day was just a routine of looking for a new job and sleeping. It wore me down and Japan kind of gave me a mental break from that. It helps that Japan is practically built for people who enjoy walking and not driving (me) and a lot of things were just accessible without the need of a car. It was a good experience. It really helped clear my head and get me back to a place where I wasn't so depressed and moody.

After years of heavy streaming, being in another country that is so different with no ‘obligation’ or pressure to stream makes it relaxing being and staying in Japan which has a total different environment that doesn’t remind him of streaming. Sucks to see depression in the people you look up to. Wishing you the best. Running from your problems won't change anything though they will follow you to Japan.

Honestly I totally understand how Toast is feeling. Japan has been at the top of the list for countries I want to visit and recently I’ve been feeling weird and trapped so I’m currently saving for hopefully a month long trip to Japan even if I have to go alone, I’m just not happy and I know I want to travel to Japan and have new experiences good or bad.

That's what happens when exposed to a completely new comforting environment after being stuck to a previous one. It feels there's so much more to discover without intervention of your common peers. Deciding part to stay for good is whether these discoveries are deal breaker or not.
