They didn't communicate color, it's a communication blindspot. Mostly just hindsight, since as a viewer we get both perspectives. I also thought there was something under the clock but I guess I was wrong...

@@michael_v2624 the thing under the clock was a token piece purely for collection, at least it was in the game’s base puzzle. And yes its a communication blindspot and having different type of lamp is also part of the puzzle which is often a trap for the players to get stuck on only to realise that its there to hinder you. This particular map really emphasize on the importance of clear communication which i think in toast case isnt a strong point since he do more solo puzzle and rae did more as a team.

Putting on the floor is a better practice for multiplayer cos if anyone hold any key items and doesnt know about them, it basically lock the entire puzzle in place.(speaking from experience playing with friends that like to hoard all item into inventory and we cant solve a puzzle until 10mins later only to figure out he has been holding a key pieces that he thought wasnt important). Im guessing toast is more used to playing solo and in this situation its not as important since they are in separated room anyway. But people often overlook inventory items since if you carry too much you tends to ignore them. Thats why in base puzzle there are trash bin to throw useless item away. For most (if not all) community map i dun see the trash bin.

Smarter people tends to overcomplicate/overthink a problem thinking that it needs a difficult solution to it. And if you saw him playing the the other escape room maps, he often overlook the simplest thing but easily figure out the difficult ones. Which is why a good puzzle should have both simple and difficult parts so different people can figure out different stuff and also to “trick” the smarter people to overthink.

@@WanderTheNomad thats y to avoid confusion, the entire world accepted certain units. example the metric system. it saved confusion around the world(except 4 few countries). I've read a story about how the air traffic controller instructed the fuel ppl to fill an airplane with 45,000 kg of fuel but the fuel filling ppl thought it was 45,000 lbs and it had disastrous consequences cuz the plane ran out of fuel mid way. Scary how small changes makes a big difference.

You should check out the cube escape series, it is a bunch of escape rooms but it also has lore and it is really interesting with a fascinating artstyle. Those games have aged but i promise that rusty lake games are amazing. I have never seen anyone ever play them on yt and it's a shame.

Um.....the "jars" that you keep seeing on the escape rooms are called canoptic jars. They were used by ancient Egyptians to store and preserve the viscera of their owner for the afterlife. There are 4 different ones. The baboon, Hapy(Hah-Pee), holds the lungs. The Jackal, Duamatef(Do-Ahm-Uh-Tef), who holds the stomach. The Human, Imsety(Ihm-Set-E), who protects the head. OK so I'm not completely up to date with these videos, but has Toast tried the We Were Here series of games on Steam? Because those games are soooo good! Especially We Were Here Together, the 3rd one. First game can be a lil buggy at times. But the whole concept is multiple escape room puzzles within a big castle complex for 2 players to work cooperatively on across the 3 games and there's a 4th game dropping this year.
