These are buildings of Great Historical interest, part of our heritage and part of our collective wealth. They should have been properly maintained by the Councils, though the actual funds that taxpayers raise does not necessarily stay within the borough but is distributed elsewhere. If the will is there to preserve our architecturaly interesting buildings, then a petition should be raised along with a request for Government grants to restore them, though given the current political climate and this open borders nonsense I doubt there is anything left in Britains coffers to do the restoration work necessary.

It was the same when we lived in Redditch over 15 years ago. The council was putting letters through tenants doors asking people to donate for a local mosque to be built. It is happening all over this country and has been for years. They are here to take over, otherwise why is this happening. We have lots of migrants in this country from all races who are humble and grateful to start a life here, they ask for nothing. The Muslim community is a different matter but why?????

Burslem, once a great town with fantastic buildings and architecture. Now the centre of town is a slum. For years all the council has done is paint double yellows (or reds) around all the streets to maximise parking revenue which has driven business away resulting in the decay we now see.
