A couple things to add... 1. New Game Plus in Dishonored 2 does profile / campaign based sourcing for your New Game Plus playthrough it is NOT saved game based. That is why you see me select a campaign that has been completed upon which to base the New Game Plus playthrough and not choose a specific saved game. You only take with you what you had at the point you finished the game in that playthrough. If you're going back to an old saved game to make adjustments you'll have to take it through to the end of the game in order for the changes to persist when you select that campaign to base your New Game Plus playthrough off of. 2. If your New Game + Option is grayed out in the menu this is because you need to complete at least one full playthrough of the game from the beginning to dealing with Delilah and seeing the ending screens. After that, the option will unlock for you. 3. A viewer mentioned this today. I rarely go so deep enough on the Bone Charm crafting tree to spend 4 runes to unlock rune crafting, however, in your NG+ playthrough that might be the time to consider it. Seeing as you're going to be picking up a bunch of bone charms that you're going to probably scrap as you already have the traits, this will free you up to A) create more bone charms as well as B) create runes. So if you really want to level up a bunch of powers and/or enhancements this might be a good approach. 4. If you get a build to the point where it is perfect for you and you don't want to change anything you might want to think about sacrificing additional runes in Bone Charm crafting to free up more whalebone for crafting bone charms. Then again, it might be worth holding onto them as there's no telling if they will release a new power or two in the future that you might want to snap up with those extra runes you have sitting idle. 5. If you're looking for additional ways to supercharge your NG+ playthrough you might want to try picking up all of the Raw Whalebone in the game for some additional rune and bone charm crafting. You can find a video for tracking the locations of the Raw Whalebone in the game here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWbLY6tjr7Zmpqc) 6. Yes you can create a New Game + playthrough from an existing New Game + playthrough. i.e. New Game ++. You'll start over with even more runes and bone charm traits this time, as you really can't find all of the bone charm traits in a single playthrough, so go ahead an give it a shot. 7. To whatever moron started the rumor that you cannot get your Flesh and Steel achievement on a New Game Plus playthrough... you're wrong. I just tested it. Not only did I get it, but I got it on a New Game++ version so I think that makes you twice as wrong. Just some extra thoughts I figured I'd append to the guide. Love you guys. You carry zero physical bone charms with you into New Game +. When you sacrifice a corrupt or black bone charm, they do not give you their respective traits, just additional raw whalebone. If you pop up to the channel home page and click into the Dishonored 2 section, there are videos up for most of the one-off type achievements that you don't naturally stumble into. My theory on achievement videos, is that I generally won't post "me too" type videos. If there are good videos out for something, I don't just copy other people's work and post it as my own. If I have something to add or a different twist on a given task, that's where I'll upload something. I hate when people copy my content so I don't do it to others. The only exception to that is when a sub asks for a specific video. In that case I don't care if there are 100 videos out there for it, I'll do one. For Corvo's apartment, you'll actually see that featured in the Souvenirs achievement video, where we go collect the Blade Verbena Trophy and some raw whalebone from his apartment in mission 6, the dust district. The special actions... yeah that's on my list of things I'd like to do a video series on for each mission. One of the best things in those game is crafting runes, especially if you do buy the upgrade where you can stack traits 4x each, then you can use the "sometimes you can retrieve sleep darts" and multiply it by four on the same 4trait bone charm and then it makes it so that you almost always retrieve your sleep darts.

Thank you Thank you. I went into Game+ with 94 Runes and 118 Bone charm traits. By the middle of Mission 2 I sacrificed 2 runes to to whip up some 3 Trait bone charms. Wow! And since I followed you for the first game (no killing) I find I am reticent to injure anyone in this play-though as Emily. Now I just started game+ for the 3rd time and I started with 146 Runes and 204 Bone charm Traits. Holy S.

If you are a collector you have to do the power with Emily where you see through walls and it highlights collectible objects.... it is basically free to use mana wise anyways, combine that with a 4trait bone charm with the trait stacked 4 times "replenish life meter when using "dark sight" and you end up just regaining all your health while you search....

You should recommend that people buy the Craft Runes power before they finish their source game. That way when you sacrifice all of your bonecharms for their traits, you'll be able to craft a few more runes you can spend in your source game so they carry over to your New Game+.

This totally saved me. I replayed mission 9 again from one of my saves at beginning of each level. I had 46 whale bone before sacrificing the rest of my bone charms. I had a thought, that if spent runes come with you... Well, then it seems prudent to upgrade bonecharm crafting all the way to craft runes, then spend all my whalebone making runes and upgrading powers before new game + playthrough start. I would have missed this if I didnt search this right before I beat the game. Thank You Mr. Codeslinger. Your videos and walkthroughs are next level. Subscription earned.

I really appreciate the kind words HotaruZoku. I actually only run the channel in the small amount of free time that I have, so I suspect that the low sub count is mostly on me. If I had the time to post a few times a week, I think it would grow, but I just can't manage to carve out that much time, for making videos, consistently. I could just throw up some crap here and there, but the quality of my content means a lot to me and it is what subs have come to expect over the years as the channel has grown and gotten better. I definitely don't want to go backwards just for the sake of posting crap videos to simply get something uploaded every couple days. Normally I get some good blocks of vacation time where I can sit down and pump out what will be a month or two worth of content for the channel in the space of two weeks, but this year work has been crazy and vacation time is just not going to happen. He's left a lot out as it looks like he made this pretty soon after it came out. But he does cover most of it. Basically always try to get everything in Bonecharm Crafting and JUST before you finish the game (click on the stone fam) break down EVERY charm you own (even the ones you used) and turn them all into Runes. Use those to buy any powers at all and then end the game. This way you'll transfer more Runes over, unlock more Traits for later and win win.

one more thing to do is after sacrificing all bonecharms, with the black and corrupted giving more whale bone than regular, is crafting runes (you did get rune crafting right?) with your newly formed runes, you have more runes to spend, thus more runes you can start with in ng+. it takes about 3 to 4 playthroughs to max every power, I think it's something like 60 runes you need

Fun facts: If you craft a bonecharm with a stack of four of the same trait on it, then sacrifice the original bonecharm that you picked up in that specific play through, you'll be able to use that trait once more. Really useful for higher level play with the elixir bonecharms, for example. I say keep collecting and spending runes. I a New Game+ file that has all powers and abilities unlocked, which is really useful for every situation. Being able to play so fluidly really helps in some tight situations. If you're going for a No Detection play through, make sure you heavily invest in Possession and the Time powers. With select bonecharms, possession is exceptionally OP, and stopping time is very useful, especially early on. New Game+ is also a good outlet to try out new things (oddly enough). There are a lot of different titles that Emily can earn at the end, try to find them all. Also, don't be afraid to kill someone you wouldn't expect could be killed. It could be better than letting them live. If you deny the Mark in a New Game+ and start another NG+ using that save, you'll only start out with the amount of runes you had in last game you played with the Mark. Runes gathered without the mark don't count.

This might have been mentioned already, but if your first playthrough was a no powers playthrough NG+ totaly screws you as you have no runes to refund and you cant sacrifice bonecharms.

It's a good idea to use all your whale bone to make runes ( if you have the skill unlocked ) and spent those runes, that way you in a way keep all your whale bone

i managed to new game + and max out all my powers( not abilities, not the buffs) and man it isa riot. being able to domino 4 guys to a doppleganger and then time stop so as they fire, take over there bodies and make them sourround the doppleganger, looks like a texas shoot out. They all fire than they all drop dead. its great

!!!FOR THE RECORD!!! Runes still don't carry over. Spend all of them on random abilities even though you won't use them so you can have all the available Runes. Bonecharms also get lost. BUT the attributes you have learned to craft are retained. Blueprints are still learned by shopkeepers for instance, muffled boots, but you still have to re-upgrade using the shop to gain the upgrade even though you purchased it on your former campaign.

You need to complete a full campaign to open up NG+. It's the same thing that happens in Metro:2033 and Last Light... sort of, except in Metro you open up Ranger mode if you complete a full campaign [or did they change that? I have Last Light on PC but 2033 on the XBox]. Obviously, Ranger mode is nowhere near as fun as being able to change Corvo & Emily's special abilities in NG+ but it's the same principle [ie, you have to complete a campaign]. I think the same principle was used with Bioshock:Infinite - finish the campaign and it lets you play in 1999 mode.

NG+ was released as part of a free update to the game. So other than making sure you're game is fully patched, there shouldn't be anything that you need to purchase.

So Ik this video is years old but what I'm confused about is let's say I do NW+ and I'm trying to look for specific charms and powers to use and I finally get my build I want but I get it all sorted towards near the end of the game. Especially the darkbone charms which you can't take the traits from. Do I still gotta do a NW++ and be lucky with finding the darkbone charms I need to recreate the build. No way of restarting your current NW+ with everything and eveey darkbone you have found.

Yep you can do it right on top of the "source" one, if you so desire. Just be careful you've got everything set up the way you want before you wind up blowing it away.

Break all your bonecharms into whalebone. then use the whalebone to make runes. then spend the runes on powers. then end your game. Of course you don't have to spend your runes anymore because I've done multiple playthroughs and have amassed an insane amount of runes to the point that I begin a game, buy all the powers and then a break the rest of my runes down into whalebone and craft bonecharms. Each with 4 of the same trait in some cases. In terms of whalebone I am mega rich in my NG+ game.

Well if you haven't spent any runes then you won't have any carried over. It would be the same as just doing a NG+ over a regular no powers playthrough.

Huh? Delilah is the easiest of all, you don’t even have to fight her. You just have to sneak up behind her and kill/knock her unconscious

Nothing really. You just get more raw whalebone from them to use for crafting Runes that you can spend on abilities that eventually get refunded to you when you start NG+ and choose to accept the outsider's mark.

Correct, you don't get to save any traits from a black bonecharm or a corrupt bonecharm for use in crafting new ones with those specific traits. You just get an increased amount of raw whalebone from them.

They remove all your bonecharms because I don't think they coded an alterative spawn if you collected all of the possible bonecharms in the game (Because the don't spawn duplicate bonecharms) There's more bonecharm traits in the game than there are bonecharms in the world, so that was never a problem before ng+

I did a campaign where I got all the runes and bone charms and I tried to do new game plus and it won't let me select that campaign slot. Any help?

I would load up your final saved game from that campaign and take it through all the way to the ending credits where it finally allows you to skip past them. My guess is that for some reason the game does not believe that campaign was "completed".

They have not changed that as far as I know. I think that is working as intended. Although I don't agree with how it is working.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't think it'll matter too much, especially once I play enough runs to have enough runes at the start to immediately get every power. Once that happens, I will test everything possible.

It is my accounting of all of the raw whalebone that you can pick up in each mission. Picking them all up and then being able to turn them into runes at the end of your playthrough as you sacrificing bone charms helps you get some extra runes to carry through into your next playthrough. It is nothing massive, but every little bit helps IMO.

If you're playing on the PC, I'd be really stumped. However, if you're playing on a console my guess is you need to log into the associated online console store and get the latest game updates. NG+ came with the first major game update. It is was free.

I would assume we can still do achivements in a + game? I've had a lot of fun starting with around 35 Runes...but right now I am working on the Ghostly/clean hands achievement....would really suck if not....

You can wait until after you deal with Delilah, but before you actually end the game by either taking the throne or freeing the statue of whomever you didn't choose to play as.

It is not you'll want to use it all up to craft runes and then use them before you end the game.

I don't know about you, but Dishonored 2 is one of the few games that actually has a really good new game+ system. I love what they did with new game+ in Dishonored 2.

I was so pissed at losing 14 Runes at the end of my playthrough cause I didn't bought additional powers. It does seem fair as per the system but a little heads up in the game would have been welcome.

I'm guessing you're playing on a console? If so, you have to log into whatever "store" there is for your platform and download the updates. You're missing out on the last two big updates that were offered for free.
