You're welcome! Remember to hold onto the door when opening until you get the part installed. I must be a slow learner because it took me several slamming door drops until I broke the habit of letting the door lower itself, LOL!

Thank you - I think this has just happened to mine - was loading the dishwasher and I hear a massive bang like a glass shattered, no idea what it was until i went to lift the door back up to close it and it was heavy and making an awful crunching sound - if you think this isnt what happened, do you have any other idea?

@@andyyates8002 Sounds like your hinge broke. There are springs that attach to the cord hinges and when the hinge breaks they recoil and slam around.

I didn't need to as I only pulled the dishwasher out far enough to access the hinge.

Yes. Just don't let go of the door when you open it.
