I had the the same error out of nowhere, I simply disconnected the HDD, cleaned it up carefully and pluged it back in and it woked as it used to be with no data loss. Here's my process if anyone is interested: I have 1 SSD as the main drive, a new HDD and a 14 year old HDD archive I went to "My Computer" and the old HDD was not there, went to disc manager and it was listed there as Not initialized like in the video and it asked me if I want to do perform this or that (I forgot what it was) I closed it, turned off my pc, unplugged it from the outlet, let it sit for a couple of minutes. The pc was very dusty so I unplugged the GPU and all 3 drives (please be very careful handling the drives specially the HDDs and specially old ones as they are fragile components) Used a duster and carefully dusted the pc. I cleaned the GPU and drives with a soft makeup brush very carefully. I plugged everything back in making sure the connections are in place. Powered the pc and under the windows startup logo it was performing some "fixing drive something something" took about 5 minutes and it booted as usual and the old HDD was there with all files intact, thank God! Now I'm going to back up the heck out of it. Good luck to everyone.

Yooo I had the same issue as this guy. All of the software fixes I've been trying have not been working and I haven't had access to my SSD for like a month now. I tried these steps that you recommended and it worked. I didn't even have to clean it. I just took out the cables and put them in firmer I think. If you have tried everything and it's not working, this is most likely the issue. Big kudos to bnadem who recommended this.

Thanks man, I have an SSD on my notebook that wasn't working (disk unknown/disabled). I unplugged it, used WD40 to clean the contact and wiped out the excess with cotton, did some plug/unplug to clean the other side of connection and then cleaned with cotton again. It worked just fine.

Tried Minitool ....but it doesn't allow me to right click on problematic dis and select "intialize to mbr disc"....Also it shows (Bad disk) on the side instead of unallocated. How do I go about this? Is there another way?

Check the health of drive using the same tool for bad sectors ..

Hy there, i just watched your video hoping to find a solution for my problem but unfortunately i haven`t been succesfull. I bought on Amazon Ugreen CM578 M.2 NVMe Hard Drive Enclosure in which i installed fully working SSD with 512Gb of space. The Ugreen Enclosure with SSD is recognised from the PC but not usable, i watched your video from start till the end and i did everything you explained but nothing happened. i have installed Erase US Partition manager just like Mini Tool Partition Wizard and on both software my "Disc 2" is recognised but somehow i can`t do anything,i can`t format,optimise or anything on that disc and if i take SSD out of the enclosure and install it directly into a PC the same SSD is recognised and fully working. What am i doing wrong, please help :(

Hello. I have a serious question for you. I have experienced a STRANGE HDD disk problem. I turned on my two external 2TB WDs. Hard drives to install (toshiba bluetooth stack) drives something that worked well. The machine was restarted and usb bluetooth worked fine. Then I had to access the external hdd to archive something. I couldn't get in for some strange reason and it said RAW on the disk in file explorer. I restarted the machine and win11 did a short disk repair. Then the disk was back, except that I no longer had user access to the disk. i tried to give it this but in the middle of this process win11 reported that there was an error with the disk and could not continue. I tried linux boot usb to try to access and read and copy from hdd but didn't get full permission to copy. Then I tried the Android TV box I had (x96 air) which gave me 100% access to do what I wanted. But the problem was USB2 which is extremely slow and I never got over 10mb/s read speed. Anyone know why this happened to me? why do I suddenly have to have user access. Shouldn't an external hdd work without user access? bitlocker is off. I am using win11 23h2 My HDD Samsung 2TB HD204UI

@@LotusGeek It's not that simple. Nothing wrong with the usb cable. And no new bios update for me. Don't you think that what happened with my EXTERNAL HDD. was a little weird? Strange that it worked flawlessly in Androud. The ones I find strange is the way the error occurred. At first win11 file explorer rapped the disk as RAW. and then it was automatically repaired by win 11 but now win11 requires user access something win11 is unable to give since win11 comes up with an error message when I tried. But android is able to read the disk without any problems. All other external USB HDDs work fine. Yes, I have tried mounting the HDD inside the computer.

Yes seems strange.. try to connect it to another pc .. or check for bad sectors in hdd Open cmd and type in Chkdsk c: /f /r /x Where c: is the drive letter of your damaged disk

Will this losing data? I just skip the tutorials months ago and I tried to use this software then everything went backed it up, but second when it came back because of the stupid bsod. I went so mad that I’ve lost everything again, the thing is that lost partition doesn’t not shown since it’s either just a software glitch or hard drive is always a problem. So either way I’m afraid that Im not going to delete the file again. So Im just gonna go ahead and upload my operating system of vhdx to other thing where the files was stored.

I made a Win11 installation USB Flash Drive. Using Diskpart, i made the installed SSD in the laptop the PRIMARY drive. Somewhere along the way, i put the wrong info in Diskpart, and now the SSD is lost! Diskpart cannot find it! How can i get Diskpart to find it? edit: I see elsewhere in the comments that are anything similar to this that you state the drive is damaged - so absolutely nothing that can be done to recover any data? after "list disk" (2:10) my disk shows "0 B" not 8TB as it should. Back story: external drive that after experiencing a power outage shows as "unknown not initialized" in Disk Management. It does not show up at all in Devices and Drives within File Explorer (1:03). The drive used to be labeled as Z: and when I attempt to do "chkdsk" (1:00) it is obviously not finding it. HDD powers on, spins, but isn't recognized by anything other than Disk Management and upon initial scan there is prompts me to initialize the disk and set up MBR or GPT which I'm reluctant to do as I do not want to make the data recovery process more difficult. Thanks in advance for any input from anyone or the OP 🤘

Try changing the port. Nextly open device manager by right click on start menu and choose device manager Make sure there isn’t any exclamatory sign by subscribing expanding all the drivers
