Welche Rolle spielte die Unterstützung der Kultur in den Jahren 2001-2021? Entstanden alternative Kunstformen wie Street Art oder Hip Hop wirklich nur mithilfe internationaler Hilfsgelder? Viele Künstler*innen, die zwischen 2001-2021 mit internationalen Kulturinstitutionen zusammengearbeitet haben, fühlen sich heute als Verlierer. Wie widerständig kann Kultur überhaupt sein? War die Kultur in Afghanistan ein Spielball der Politik und ist sie tatsächlich verloren? Welche Rolle spielte die Gender Diversity der damaligen internationalen Kulturpolitik?

The years 2001-2021 were characterized in Afghanistan by the military presence of the USA and its NATO partners. During this intervention, democratization processes were initiated. What role did the support of culture play in the years 2001-2021? Did alternative art forms such as street art or hip hop really only emerge with the help of international aid funds? Many artists who worked with international cultural institutions between 2001-2021 feel like losers today. How resistant can culture be? Was culture in Afghanistan a pawn of politics and is it really lost? What role did gender diversity play in international cultural policy at the time?
