Amazing review on the custom damaged Fabulous Hudson Hornet! Whoever made this custom did a phenomenal job on it! This almost looks close to an actual Mattel release even though Mattel canceled this release back in 2010. Honestly, I think the reason why Mattel canceled it is so that they either wanted to tone down the violence of cars or kids won’t be able to play with it since the car is all beaten up and damaged. They would rather get a regular version of said car rather than a damaged one because they can actually play with it, whereas a collector’s perspective, they’ll just use the damaged car for display, for a review, or for a stop motion remake. So I believe that’s the reason why Mattel stopped making damaged racers, but then again, we have customizers out there who do fantastic work with their masterpieces! This custom however is no exception, it already looks stunning as hell! It also looks 100% accurate to the movie! But overall, this custom is fantastic, it’s probably one of my favorite damaged racer customs ever! 😃👍

Awesome custom definitely a lot of connections between Cars 1 and Cars 3 totally relates to Doc Hudson's crash in 1954 and Lightning McQueen’s crash in 2017. Definitely a awesome custom

Doc's crash looks worse than the Kings, but Lightning wins the cake for the most damaged car. While the other cars were able to open their eyes after such a hit, Lightning took a double barrel flip and looked as if he was knocked unconscious after his tire blew out. How he even survived that I have no idea.

This is how it happened in June 21st 1954 for years Doc Hudson became a racing legend trying to prove he had a chance to show everyone but when his 17th win failed during the FireBall beach 500 he didn't make it to the finish and lost control on the sand and injured in a devastating crash which left fans anxious they wouldn't be able to see their beloved hero on the track again for quite some time Hudson clung to the hope that the race won't be his last as the doctors explained to him that there's no way for him to continue racing again but Hudson couldn't accept this being forced in retirement racing is all he knew as he do the repairs by himself

This has to be one of the greatest customs I have ever seen! It's a little gutwrenching to see Doc in this state, and I couldn't imagine McQueen reacting to Doc like this. A shame he never got released. But I think the violent nature of the car prevented his release. A great review as always!

Great video! I like Doc a bit more than McQueen, mainly cause of the sandy detail on him. As for why they cancelled him, I personally think it was simply cause they cancelled so many cars that year anyway, he was just one of the many casualties. After all, they did release Damaged Rod just the year after as you mentioned, so they weren’t done with Damaged Cars just yet.

They did a fantastic job on the Doc custom's expression. I think I would have to say that I like Doc more than McQueen, however, they did a great job combining multiple McQueens. Eventually I would love to take a stab at some damaged customs. My guess is the death of Paul Newman is probably one of the main reasons Doc wasn't released, his crash was also way worse than The King's. Great review as always!

I think it got cancelled because maybe kids would be terrified because of the artwork box When I was little I was terrified of Damaged Mood Springs’ artwork. But I think an easy solution was to make it have his normal artwork kind of like they did with Lighting Mcqueen with Bumper Stickers
