For a kid’s perspective, they can’t buy the damaged cars because the wheels are either unleveled or bent up due to the damage the car has received. They can’t play with it because it looks out of place when you have a damaged car rolling around. They’ll just mostly prefer getting the regular version of said car.

That looks like a great custom car! I made a crash damaged McQueen too. I used some sandpaper to roughen up his body and scratch out his paintwork, as well as bend the axles to make it look like he's slumping on the ground after the crash, paint red over his eyes to make them look like they're closed, put a frown on his face, but I didn't cut off the spoiler a little and that's something I need to work on. Other than that, the custom I made turned out great, and I'm very proud of what I had done.

I personally love the damaged cars. Those customs look amazing!!!! The fact that they used 3 different McQueens just shows how amazing they are. I love the Damaged Doc, eventually I want to attempt to make some damaged customs. I almost think McQueen's crash was way worse than The King's because he full on rolled across the pavement while The King at least hit the grass for most of it. However, there are the Derby Cars which seem way more violent than the crashed versions because they are doing it intentionally. Great video as always

I find Mattel kinda wussing out on such a prominent and popular variant, and also, when you said they don't want to hurt people's feelings, I think they do, because of Mater with Lightning Bolt shelfwarming everyone's rare and valuable racers, and of course, Made in Thailand being so ugly.

Great video as always DD. Excellent points about younger collectors. I wonder about Ramone as Han Solo trapped in Carbonite from the Disney Parks line. That is a pretty disturbing release, although not really a crashed car, and also not made by Mattel either, at least not officially. If Disney allowed that nightmare to be sold, they must certainly allow wrecked Doc and McQueen!

For a collector’s perspective, it would be perfect to have although Mattel will probably not do this anymore due to it acting like the cars are either injured or beaten up. It’s like a person bleeding to death with a lot of scratches and bruises all around. But then again, since Mattel won’t release any damaged cars or racers, we got customizers to do the job. These damaged racers would make great displays if you’re gonna display this as part of your whole car collection. It would also be great for re-enacting scenes from the movie.

One thing I would approve on the custom is that I would put black synthetic rubber tire on one of the rims and I would black out some of the lightyear logo on the tires with a sharpie
