People who are confused about the Doug ruling: The tv show was originally owned and produced by Nickelodeon. After Disney bought it, they made a movie. Disney made the movie, not Nick. Therefore, Doug's 1st Movie (not the show, the movie) was "originally produced" by Disney. An odd choice to include, but it's technically correct.

@@SanderEvers Yes, in the same way the all Marvel films starting with the Avengers are Disney. But Marvel is still its own studio, just like Pixar is. Their content is disney, but Pixar films are not Disney Animated Studio films like Frozen, Tangled, and Big Hero 6. So I know they're Disney, but there IS a difference between Pixar Studio and Disney Animation Studio films.

Actually it was made by Amblimation. Universal was just the distributor. When Amblimation closed down, Universal acquired the rights. So, it's a Universal property but they didn't make it. It's a common misconception, especially since Universal did make both sequels.

It's nice to see that so many people are appreciating Treasure Planet for what it is, and that I'm not alone in having it as my favourite movie. This truly does put a smile on my face.

@@TrineMortensen Well there is a very good video about why it flopped called "Treasure Planet: Disney's greatest mistake" which basically explains that Disney wanted it to fail because it cost too much to make and sustain. But I don't get why the general public hate it, or feel meh about it, because even as an adult I still extremely enjoy the movie, even Ben!

To be fair it was terribly marketed, and then released against 3 other blockbusters including Harry Potter 1 AND one of Disney's own Christmas movies in the middle of December. I hate to say it, but they wanted it to fail.

@@heathercampbell6059 Yeah, can't think of any kind of marketing besides Disney Channel themselves and McDonald's. I remember those CD-ROM Treasure Planet games you got in McDs that unlocked a 4th game if you collected all 3. It's a shame, Treasure Planet had so much potential.

Lmao, I saw Doug and thought "this one should be obvious" before I remembered that Disney bought Doug at one point. My only issue was I couldn't remember if the movie was made before or after. As for everyone complaining about the rules, the movie counts because it was made after and BY Disney, as opposed to being already made by a different studio.

Treasure Planet and Anastasia are among my all time favorite cartoon movies ever along with Brother Bear, Balto etc. I've never really been a huge fan of those princess movies (except Mulan). I've been loving Treasure Planet since childhood. I really don't understand why it's so underrated. It's such a treasure of a movie.
