Disney channels movies from the late 90’s to the early 00’s were the best movies of my childhood. I love❤this movie. This movie brings back so many childhood memories. This movie was a big part of my childhood. This movie just shows the world. That a different race doesn’t matter. When it comes to love❤️ of a friendship or a relationship. Black🖤is beautiful. And Caucasian🤍is beautiful.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I watch this movie every year on Freedom Day (27 April), it's a great movie with a great message. A lot people think because it's by Disney it's gonna be bad, but the fact that it won an emmy should prove at presumption wrong.

This movie was so real i was lowkey in my feelings at the end when the husband was talking about the birds and how they all were the same. But the part where the black man who killed himself reminded me of the Sandra Bland case and how the police are really getting out of control with this. Its damn near 2020 and the police injustices are still going on, i mean where is the end of this.

Steven Biko didn't kill himself while he was in prison, he was beaten to death by white South African police, while in their prison.
@markmcnary17857 жыл бұрын
This film had so much heart, and it made me feel good. It was a true story that actually happened, and it's true that the Disney Channel doesn't produce all that many good TV movies anymore. there should have been a sequel to it, telling the rest of that story.
@abeltesfaye_2 жыл бұрын
I never knew it was based on a true story, wow!!
@markmcnary17852 жыл бұрын
It was based on a true story that took place in the 1970s, during the time of Apartheid that was going on in South Africa when Steven Biko was arrested and killed by white South African police in their jail.

I think you're kinda forgetting the context of when this movie took place. It was in 1977 and racism was indeed rather widespread and blatant back then. If you think about it, it was actually less than 10 years after MLK jr was assassinated and the events in-film occurred while Mandela was still incarcerated. Of course, today it would look exaggerated and cheesy, but that's why movies like this are made. In order to remind us of how silly and ridiculous we acted and treated each other back then.
