I love that there's a term "Disney height"... I worked for a Cedar Fair theme park, and their measurement was one-and-a-half inches taller than I really was. For the first few months, they always kept on asking why the characters I was assisting looked wrong.

Hi Olivia! I'm just coming across this video due to some research I've been doing about Disney auditions. I just had a question about the audition. I danced for 15 years, so I have a lot of experience with learning choreography, but all of my flexibility is gone. Is flexibility something that is important for a character performer audition? Should I be working on that if I plan on going to an audition? Thanks!
@olivia_simone7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jamie! For character performer audition, flexibility is not important. If you want to be considered for parade performer then I'm guessing it's more important, but flexibility isn't a key thing for performer or face auditions (I think Haha- not a casting director so obviously can't say for sure)

Are the people who help with the characters that meet and greet the same as the parade and performing people that help with characters. Like for example if you were helping out mickey would you be the same helper up on the castle stage or a parade float?

It depends! You have to go to a separate audition for parades!

@olivia_simone7 жыл бұрын
Briana Ponce you can find out disney college program information by googling "Disney programs blogs" or you can find PT/FT audition information on disneyauditions.com The Disney careers website is another good spot to find out info on disney internships and open positions. the minimum age to work at the parks/participate in the DCP is 18 :)

I have no hair but I have a normal wig I usually put on. Should I put it on or should be honestly to be bald in the audition?
@olivia_simone7 жыл бұрын
Show up however you're most comfortable. If you wear a wig in everyday life then I'm guessing it's okay to wear one to the audition (I'm not a casting director so I can't give any definites!) If you show up in a Rapunzel wig then that's a different story lol But if you're comfortable in your wig, and can move and dance in it, then you should be fine to wear it :)

Also if you have time can you do another q&a like a short one focusing on character auditions. What I mean by that is explaining how you choose the character you want to audition for. Like do they choose the character the auditioners are doing? Or if you pay for the program before the audition? Will you get into another area if you do not get in the audition? Thanks again!

that's such an informative video. I have a question. Recently I auditioned for a character performer, and made it almost all the way. They let go around 4-5 of us and kept around 7-9 ppl in. the last 7-9 ppl that came out (about 20 min after) got out having the part. Do you think there's stilll a chance for the 4 or 5 of us? :/ was it like that for you? mine wasn't a DCP.
@olivia_simone8 жыл бұрын
Hi Mariana! Mine was similar to that, except the people that got kept were video taped and no one knew whether they got the part or not yet. But not everyone was kept to be videotaped that got it! I have no clue how regular auditions for this work :/
@erinr86146 жыл бұрын
So was the audition for overall character performance or for a specific category? Like I know from watching your other videos that you were friends with Mickey and some of his friends (non face characters) but was the audition only for those types of characters?

it was a general performer audition!

@olivia_simone7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter what height you are to get into the actually program, as far as performing, it depends on their needs at the time! There are roles for performers that height but it depends on how many people are currently in those roles and if they need more people that height as far as whether or not you would be casted

Okay, thank you! That makes me feel a lot better
