I've played Kingdom Hearts for years and I'm still shocked that Disney allowed Mickey Mouse to be choke slammed by his neck into a oversized chair at 0:30. Poor guy goes through even worse in the KH3 DLC too with him practically getting jumped and shot with multiple lasers by 13 armored guys at 0:45 lol

In a way it's kind of funny that it went from Disney only allowing them to use Mickey for one scene in the original (most likely just in case it failed) to making him a huge focus for the rest of the series. Like, they were basicallly like "Ok, it's popular enough. Use Mickey as much or however you want now"

its the fact that sora himself wasn't created by disney or something like that japan is extremely possessive over their creations and not allowing foreign companies to control too much of something they feel is theirs and they do go through alot of legal stuff loop holes n arm twisting to retain certain right sor allow stuff like this to happen. when hyundai(i think it was them lr another japanese car brand) was going under they apointed a foreign guy as the chairman to help bounce back but eventually they wanted to relinquish control from him by any means. at first they tried going through court and legal stuff until they started digging for some dirt kn the guy until they managed to sue him for fraud or something and now he's a fugitive and japan owns hyundai again. the same thing happened when ubisoft made those two naruto games for the 360 and they were better than anything bandai ever made at the time but bandai wanted the license back to the character n the rights to publish naruto games and they twisted ubisofts arm. alot
