For goodness sake, please do not just give random dollar store stuff as FE gifts. The Disney branded stuff can be fun (love the towels; I’ll be looking for those), but hair ties and stuff, unless you are going to craft something unique with it, makes it just a junk exchange.

What are "Fish Extender Gifts"?

Fish extender gifts are DCL's version of secret santa. It is not put on by DCL, but a lot of facebook groups will get lists of cabins together for people to participate. You buy or make gifts for those in your group and then you hand them out to those in your group once on board. You place the gifts by their door, at any point during the cruise. People like coming back and seeing what has been left for them. It is something that people enjoy, but not at all required. You also hear a lot about it on KZbin or on the Disboards, buy in reality, not that many people participate on the ship.
