Hi! First of all, THANK YOU for your video and your effort to make some information available. You are SO right, on the internet there's very little info about the program, only you and the other girl (Meg). I am happy to see that the video is very recent and I am the first one to write a comment! I was researching about the Disney cruise line even if right now I am not going to be able to apply because I have been accepted to work at Epcot for the Cultural representative program (is that what you did before the cruise?). Anyway I would like to do that AFTER my 12 months at epcot, not sure it will be possible. I would like to as you a few questions if you don't mind :) Since you are not from the US like me, can you tell me if they hire foreign people? it looks like they do, but do they sponsor visas? for how long? Can you give us more info (maybe in another video!) about the hours, the pay and time off? I am a little confused! When you go back to the land can you stay in Florida or you have to go back to Australia? Sorry for the long comment. I am excited for you and wish you all the best!!!! :)

I passed the phone and Skype interview, then 2 days after they offered me a position,.then another 2 days later they sent me an email saying " Congratulations on making it to the next stage of the Disney Cruise Line® hiring process! It is time to start planning and preparing for your Disney Cruise Line adventure.",.then I sent an email to my procurement ally that I made it through to the next stage and he said " my colleague will be in touch to you soon as she can to help you start with the process of joining Disney Cruise Line"...I can't wait anymore to finally become part of DCL family:)))

6 professional references seems a lot! Most workplaces only ask for 2. 😬

She says she was a youth activity counselor… she was working in the kids club, responsible for the kids on board when the parents wanted alone time. That kind of position may require a few more references than a restaurant server waiting on the family with mom and dad present to watch over their own kids

Hi! I just got back from completing my Cultural Exchange Program and regret not extending my program so so much! I've been trying to find something else to fill that whole in my life because post DCP Depression so so real!!! :(( I had always been interested in working with the cruise line in kids activities as well, but didn't know what qualified as child work experience in Australia. What did you do back here that was approved by Disney to work on the Cruise Line? Thanks a million! This video was so helpful :)

Imogene Shipstone hi! I totally Understand that post DCP depression for sure! It's that feeling that drove me to apply for cruise line. When it comes to experience absolutely anything counts! Times you've volunteered places or worked. So I was a dance and drama teacher and that's what I referenced. But there is not limit as to what kind of child care or experience you have. Absolutely any experience you've had (paid or unpaid) counts!!

Oh awesome! Thank you so so much, do you think babysitting would count? But that is super helpful!! Good luck with it all, I love following your experience, gives me hope for Aussies to work for the company again!! Such a good opportunity :)

Hi Ellyse! Do you know DCL's criteria as to who qualifies as a professional reference? Do all six need to be supervisors at paying jobs? A lot of my relevant work experience has been volunteer, so do you know if people involved with those roles would qualify? Thanks in advance!

As an American will I need to have a visa. I didn't see it in my document list on the DOC website. I'm in my last phase now of pre medical examine
@vedekbarb
@vedekbarb 6 ай бұрын
No visa required for an American going to a Disney ship sailing out of an American port. I was meeting the Wonder in San Diego for its Mexican Riviera season and was scheduled to get off in Honolulu as the ship was starting its trans Pacific crossing for its first Australia season. American might need something when reporting to a ship sailing out of a non-American port, like if your start date is when the Wonder is sailing around Australia and New Zealand or during Alaska season when the Wonder is sailing out of Vancouver Canada or if you’re reporting to whatever ship is sailing Europe in the summer.

the flight / travel to the destination of your boarding site and to your home (for your vacation afterwards) is paid by Disney. According to the Disney career website and other firsthand accounts i've seen around.
