This is pretty similar to how I have my pumpkin garden set up except that I do the long length. I have mine set up on the far side of the glade: 25longx2wide rows of pumpkins, plus an empty row, repeat 4 times for a total of 200 pumpkins. I do a long row of 25 and then walk straight back to the beginning, collecting the drops as I go. It gives me enough time to collect them all, as well as any golden/ red timed extras. It's also very fast to plant seeds even if I start sideways, since the 2-width means that I don't really zigzag back and forth much.

I have over 17 million coins now so I only pick my pumpkins occasionally and have put my patch into the design of the peaceful meadows. However if I ever need to start farming them in earnest again I'll definitely try this out.

Love the idea. Going to try it. I have 503 pumpkins in the forgotten lands with 1 fire i have to work around. Plus i have it angeled around that big center rock that can't be moved. DO NOT ignore Golden Harvests, the buddy will continue to throw out HELLA more from you spamming them. You end up getting at least 10 just from spamming and another 10-20 from the buddy collection. I don't see how its not worth it. You literally just gave away 50-100 more pumpkins by not spamming the Golden Harvests.

And also I saved around 30 seconds, cause it would interrupt the flow, will require more attention and I'd have to pick up all my pumpkins more often cause they would solidify faster. This setup is about efficiency, not quantity, but I totally see your point

Looks interesting, I will have to try this out when they allow us to clean up the fires in forgotten lands. just not enough space in any other biome atm. I currently buy two stacks of pumpkins to plant, so will have to do a variation that allows for 198 spots.

You absolutely lost me at “ignore the gold pumpkins”. I get SO many extra pumpkins from those alone. I don’t care about harvesting all 75 pumpkins quickly without stopping lol I’m getting those gold pumpkins.

Could you combine the 2 strips of pumpkins to do it in an L shape? That way you could continuously harvest/plant pumpkins and would be a natural edge on each pumpkin strip

I don't understand how you get 450 pumpkins. I get 350 with a helper and I have 23 characters. Do I need more characters identified as harvesters or something like that? Also, carpets did not stop the bones, but the carpets do look cool.

I stopped farming pumpkins because I play on ps5 and I just can't be bothered to make the pumpkin puffs recipes anymore... Do you know of a way to make that easier on console? Or at this point would it just be more efficient to sell the pumpkins by themselves? Also, I need to search if you have a video for the ideal ratio of villagers to jobs (like how many should be fishing buddies vs harvesting buddies etc)

So he's pointed out souffle make essentially the same amount of money as pumpkin puffs so it's easier to outright sell the pumpkins and make souffle or just sell pumpkins by themselves. Pumpkins alone are still the highest selling crop

What about when you lock up your buddy? I’ve been having my buddy throw pumpkins LITERALLY all over Forgotten Lands when I release them. I end up having to manually pick up at least 50 or more pumpkins once they drop their load. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Any advice?

Stand in an open area when they throw it, maybe put teleporter in the middle of empty space, and teleport there, buddy will also teleport

Well, I hate to completely contradict your design but I can harvest pumpkins on one side of a biome and spawn extras on the other side of it. Not only that, but when I really get into harvesting, I've even had pumpkins end up in Sunlit Plateau. Maybe it's just me. 😅

It happened with some other designs I tried, but not with this one, the key is to have narrow lanes and enough space on the side for the pumpkins:)

Not sure if you know this trick or not, but you can put all of your other vegetables on the counters (kitchen) and it will not count in your inventory for cooking so you could do grilled vegetable platter with pumpkins if you want.
