I didn't confirm this until yesterday! Your timing is incredible! I had only received 4 bows ever until this point. I switched over to walking around with Minnie to test out if I could get more bows and easily got 8 yesterday. it's harder when you don't have a time bender, but if you're super well fed, you can get gifts like 1/5 of the time. With a time bender its higher.

For me: Scrooge drops more bows than Minnie, Eric drops more dinglehoppers than Ariel (other creators have noted maybe Ariel & Ursula since they couldn't be assigned jobs previously are broken on this metric) and Maui drops more oars than Moana. So my strategy tip would be to work on changing those characters first. I have been grinding almost non stop for weeks and I am up to 13 time benders. My goal is 15. Regarding fragments, I still have not seen Scrooge first dime pedestal chunks but thankfully my second account has and did the bending for the both of us. I have crafted every fragment except the palace (ironically that was my first fragment drop) but I just need the glimmer and I'll have that done in a day or so. Time bending is my favorite, for now. 😅

Interesting, Ariel drops WAY more than the other 2 for me 🤔 I’ve had a theory that it works better if they are the right universe but NOT a timebender. Ursula is a timebender for me, and I mostly get radiators, ancient cores etc. with her vs more gifts with Eric and Ariel. Eric just doesn’t seem to drop dinglehoppers for me for some reason, but Ariel is definitely the best in my valley

I made Maui my timebender for oars and he really doesn’t drop them very often at all. Minnie dropped mad bows at first, for our first couple trips around the biomes, then it slowed way down.

I constantly see the tapestry fragments; almost every second day. I only got the pedestal chunks and the sword fragments once since the expansion dropped more than a month ago.

I figured it out when i used mickey and i got a lot of bows and and then used Ariel to get some dingle hoppers 😂 but i was very confused in the beginning 😅

@ you use those 3 items to craft timebending manuals, to convert your villagers into timebenders if your villagers already have a different job 😊❤️

I have tried this theory for weeks. All I get is less items because the person I’m hanging out with isn’t yet a time bender. I would love more bows , oars etc . At the moment it’s like running uphill.

Wow I can't believe you grinded everyone to time Benders without this!!! Even knowing this it took me forever to grind for time bending manuals, would have been so much more painful without this 💕 Scrooge is good to assign a critical role because he doesn't sleep. That's why he became my Mickey universe time bender The gifts are good for decorating

When we got the dlc i didnt know there was the ability to have a villager do time bending at first 😢 lol but i had not unlocked the ursula dream bundle and made her right away a time bender so hopefuly this may be helpful for others ❤

Love when my favorite creators cover topics I've discovered in game😂❤ and I made Minnie and Moana timebenders right away as soon as I discovered this (I made Ursula a timebender when I gave her legs lol) and it's a game changer I have an overabundance of bows and forks though lol Moana is stingy with her oars. Even made Maui a timebender to see if it helps (it does not lol) I use my extra gifts as decoration! Even used the timebending blocks from Toy Story in my dreamsnap last week! Also have the Anyone Can Cook cookbook in my kitchen lol I wouldn't sell em especially in case they could be more useful in the future. Great topics as always MrStar! Also it took me forever to get the palace fragments :( keep checking and I hope they pop up soon for you!

This explains a lot. I only really started time bending yesterday. I kept getting fire extinguishers. Nearly all the time. I thought it was bugged. But guess what? I was trying to level up EVE who was hanging out with me. So pretty sure this is real.

I'm just getting into the DLC. There were a few people who did "Daily Chores" lists for DDV. (Go to Scrooge Shop, Go to Kristoff, feed pets, etc). Would you be willing to make a list like that for Eternity Isle? (Timebend for shards, Get glimmer in the realms, etc)

I’m so glad you did this one!! Since it came out I’ve gotten one new timebending character and today I have almost the second one ready to make!! Ariel throws out so many forks even before being my 3rd timebender. It’s amazing. I’m working on getting more oars to be able to make my next manual. Thx SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO!

I have all my villagers timebenders, I receive so many bows and dingle hoppers and wooden oars. It is great. I knew this and use it since the start.

I don’t know if this theory makes sense in my case. I’ve gotten loads of those cooking books and I never ever hang out with Remy. Edit: I just realized that I have a bunch of deadly nightshade which is from Nightmare Before Christmas and I haven’t even unlocked Jack yet. 🤔

I kind of wonder if you have multiple characters from a specific universe as a timebender, if it increases the chance to get the item specific to that universe.

I figured this out on my own. However, I still got more Fragments and Paper Lanterns than Dinglehoppers or Wooden Oars. As for Glimmer, I wish the game allowed us to take our Timebending Buddy into the Realms to increase our chances of obtaining Glimmer.

OMG THX! I only have 5 dinglehoppers and I want to make some more timebending manuals. Sadly Gameloft is taking their sweet time to fix my game so I can’t do Gaston, Rapunzel and Jafar. They took away one of my jewels of time and can’t get it back along with several other issues. They’ve been in touch and told me if I place another ticket they’ll put my request to the bottom of the pile!! So I wait and wait!! I am excited to get a few more timebenders now that I know how to get the materials even faster. Thx so much 😊

How many characters to have a decent balance with the different tasks, e.g. mining, foraging, timebending, gardening, etc.? Do you know that?

I was a bit to eager to explore the isles so I didn't realized that there is timebending as a job for your companions. So I ended up only with Gaston getting it. And he is the worst. I rarely get anything from him and I try to get the stuff to craft another timebending book for weeks now.

If you log out between switching from Mackey & friends to little mermaid the rate of bow VS dinglehopper appears to help. Also, fragments are on a daily schedule. You and your friends are likely to have a different fragment schedule. Today for me are tires. My friend gets piano legs today

Embossed books and Lanterns are the only thing I have a 50 stack of. I wasn’t paying attention and made Eve a miner lol whoops or I'd have fire extinguishers I'm sure!

I found if i hung with a character from a specific biome, i got specific items. Like frosted heights i hang with olaf, forest of valor christoff, plaza scrooge, peaceful meadow goofy, glade of trust mother gothel, dazzle beach ariel, sunlight plateau scar, forgotten lands fairy godmother. I didnt have to make any a timebender to get different things to drop. Only if i wanted more to drop.

*idk why this first part was common sense to me but it was. i got that gifts is just what its labeled but all timebending items are for us not to give away. and then it saying hangout and the frozen or mickey and friends so on.... i got it meant hang out with that character. BUT how it was for you with moana not getting the wooden ore.... thats how it ALWAYS is for me with EVERY character..... but i still try cus i get one or two as oppose to none... They need to fix how much gifts and fragments we are suppose to get with characters...*

I'm afraid this isnt the case. I was trying to get more oars to make more manuals, and I first hung out with Maui who I chose as my timebender for the Moana Group. Even when he was a timebender, I ran and searched through all zones of The valley including bonus orbs. Then went to start my next round on eternity isle (in which afterwards id return to the valley to start a 2nd cycle), i got to the plains and finally my first oar dropped with maui picking up a 2nd. I'm afraid its still random.

This IMHO opinion is true. I had Moana with me while I timebended and I dig get more oars. I still believe there's some luck/RNG unvolved...but most definitely a difference in drop rates. Thanks for the video though. This will make grind sessions so much easier! ✌️

MrStarInSky thanks for sharing this video and confirming this theory for me! 👍🏻⭐️🙂 In the beginning, I too thought if you gift a villager from the correct universe the matching gift, that it would add bonus friendship points. But as time went on, I started to think that if you hangout with a villager from the correct universe with matching gift that the likelihood of you timebending that gift would be higher, but up until now I was unsure! Also, did you know if you remove items from eternity isle that were already there, like the brown crates or pieces of stone laying around on the docks, etc…that it unlocks new crafting recipes! And, I started decorating eternity isle last night and while removing some trees, watering those big plants, and pickaxing those giant glass swirls….I found some secret hidden areas both in the wild tangled and desert!

I hope we can use the gifts for crafting more stuff in updates going forward. Until then, I'm using a lot of them as decor. The block is in my toy store, and books look really good in my book stall, etc.

But I find these things without hanging out with a character or a timebending companion. The ones I have a hard time finding is certain fragments - have yet to find broken sword piece or the castle piece. It's never available.

I've known this for a while and why I put Ariel, Minnie and Moana as my first time benders. What I've noticed is oars are the hardest to get and bows it seems drop from the other two as well (I've never gotten a fork or oar from, for example Minnie but I have gotten some bows from Ariel/Moana) Anyway even though I have other time benders these are the only 3 I have follow me. I JUST made Mickey a time bender so curious if my drop rate will increase? I'm up to 7? 8? Benders now. I do not plan on doing them all....just enough that I get more extra items. Right now it's either 1 extra or 4. As for the daily items....I have 3 I've never gotten yet. Several two days in a row. A friend of mine plays and we compare and can totally confirm it's random.....with the very rare exception.

This might be a silly question, but can you hang out with the character that will give you the dingle hopper, bow or oar even if they’re not a timebender? I understand that timebender gives you a bonus and that’s why you want them to be with you, but I currently only have 3 timebenders and none of which are Mickey and friends, moana universe or little mermaid. So, would your likelihood of getting these items still be higher even if you were hanging out with any of these characters despite them not being timebenders?

On the fragments it tells you when they are available... it seems to be random but there is a fragment available each day

It took me 5 weeks to 1 piano leg and finally 6 weeks to get anymore. All the others are pretty even. Also you need to keep gold bar in energy to increase odds on any gift drops. Took me 5 weeks on accident to discover scales can be found in oasis ONLY and not in a fishing spot but just anywhere else. I found that because my little likes to fish but she is stubborn and doesn't like the spots so she just casts anywhere and she was in oasis and got scales. lolol yeah her. Tried everywhere else and no luck and only oasis and if gold bar was filled you had better chance and also when they throw out the bonus and take a fishing buddy. I knew early that you had to have character to match drop and I use Maui as timebender for oars. Dingehoppers with Ariel but those drop less but when they do they seem to drop in groups like 2 times in a row and then it takes a bit. I hate having to fit in timebending to the realms so much to get a few glimmer, so time consuming. It is what it is.

what I did cause it made sense due to the characters is I made mickey a timbender (cause of fantasia it made sense.) then I made Ursala a timbender cause she's magical. and then I made Maui one cause well he's sorta magical cause he's a demigod.

I think the fragment rate is broken. I only got the broken sword, wagon wheel and pedestal chunk once since the update launched, but I can craft about 50 tapestries and vases by now. As for the gifts, the lute, books and lantern make for nice decoration pieces.

i am surprised that nobody knew this because for me it was obvious since day one.. i only hanged out with Moana, Minnie and Eric till I had all my characters switched to time benders.. now i hang out with one character per day to fill minimum one big chest with each gift..I have about 500 of each at the time..

I have loads of the broken swords and cracked towers. I will gladly give you some in exchange for some pedestal chunks! I have never seen a pedestal chunk and, like you, I've been checking and logging what is there every day since release. I heard a rumour that you won't be able to get certain ones in your game because the devs want to encourage multiplayer and trading. I don't know how much truth there is to that though 🤔 I figured out the "hang out bonus" thing on New Years Day, after a month of playing it untill 5am 🤦‍♀ I figured out that you can only get glimmer from the realms at the same time 🤦‍♀😂 I was like "my hourglass has been level 3 for ages and yet I've never seen a piece of glimmer...time to investigate" 🤔 That's when I spotted the "hangout bonus" information. It seemed pretty self explainatory to me, I just had never looked that closely at that collections page. More fool me. Any way, thanks for making a video on this so that more people are aware of it, and it will save them hours. Big love from Manchester UK xXx

When I tried this I found Scrooge gives me bows and Maui gives me oars... i want to try to get 15 time benders but trying to get the things needed is taking time but since Scrooge and Maui are miners I can multi task with them while I am setting up for books....

I already knew this about the bow dinglehopper and the wood ore or what ever that is. But i didnt know the gits you find with the staf are from the companions you hang out with. How is it that if i hangout with mickey i dont get any bows and if i hangout with minnie i do? And i have Jack eve and rapunzel to hangout with if im going to time bend.And if i use Minnie i only get two bow's I havent used Jack yet but i have his black pot as a gift from him how can that happen?

Has anyone discovered and figure and solve out what is the meaning of the secret with the sign on the ground on the Frozen realms means? But if you use the Timer staff very near on the ground where the stones ring with the strange signs you can see a symbol there on the ground which looks like "8" . It only works when you are trying to find glimmer. If you have found all of the glimmer in the realm you won't see the mysterious 8 sign. Because you only get the message Nothing to find here. I tried to use the shovel. Nothing happened. So I have no clue what to do with it.

Those are fragments, they will spawn only on a certain day, which is random, gotta check every day if they spawn today

I started the expansion late (it was a Christmas present) and I didn't have a single bow after grinding time bending hours a day. I switched to Mickey as a companion after seeing this (he's not a time bender yet, so I lost the duplicate advantage) and dropped two bows within the first 15 minutes or so of time bending. Yeah, that one works for sure.
