Another “grown-up” player here. My kids are both living on their own, and my GRANDSON is turning 1 tomorrow. These life sim games are wonderful when done well, and this one is. It’s funny, I am playing on a Switch so the performance isn’t great - my game has crashed multiple times each play session. But I can’t help but think it’s so much better than Animal Crossing because it just feels like a loading screen, and even the Dreamlight Valley crashes seem to take less time than talking to Orville.

Just a secondary tip to the chests: you don't have to limit the chests to just your house. You can place them almost anywhere throughout the world and still access them anywhere. For example, I put mine near all the fishing spots so I can just throw my fish in there when my inventory gets full and grab them when I'm ready to sell or leave them in there so I can cook with em. SUPER useful.

Here's a tip: if you're looking for seaweed just use your fishing rod in any spot in water that doesn't have bubbles and that will give you a chance to catch seaweed.

I've tried re-syncing my time because I want to be able to decorate at night, with my lamp posts, but I can never get a chance to play long enough at night to be able to do this. I've seen a few articles all saying change time, but its not working, has this been patched out? This is dreadful, i adore this game, but i desperately need some night time so i can decorate :I I appreciate the real time idea, but i think its going to be very irritating to folks like me, who have limited playtime at night.

TIP 1: DO NOT SPEND YOUR DREAM SHARDS YOU WILL SOFTLOCK YOURSELF (alot of key quest require the pink shards to progress especialy Gothels quest line I don't want to get into spoilers but at one point you can't talk/buy/sell to anyone else during the quest and if you don't have enough shards then your pretty much softlocked from progressing) TIP 2: you can move you wells in to blocked off areas that you have unlocked and fast travel to them with out needing the upgrade to your tools, this helped get me some emergency dream shards that I needed for my previous tip.

So I can't advance until I get clay to make a 3rd pot. Cuz it's not counting my 2nd one . They were both given to me by scrooge..but it's saying I only have 1. So I'm stuck on scrooge and can't advance him. So I need clay to make another pot.

Well you can get dream shards by feeding animals there favorite foods and removing night thorns that do reappear after about a day so it is still possible yet takes a long time just like waiting for rain for the one quest.

If you go back into Remy's Realm all the ingredients are free. You can pick up 99 of an ingredient and drop it on the floor near the cooking pot' it doesn't despawn between visits. And any energy you gain in the Realm carries over to the valley. Supper handy in the early game.

That IS a good tip. I ran out of inventory space so I had to start eating all the one-star creations I made, and it filled my energy gauge + extra. That was a nice surprise!

You can just go into your house to refill your energy instantly. No need to run all the way to Remys realm just to eat

The furnishing mode is amazing. I use it to locate items i need, even better when i need a flower i just pick it right up in furnish mode and bring it close to me. Same idea with placing large amounts of bushes or trees in one area to have high wood drops. etc

I gotta share my pain I experienced today with people who will understand. I am level 36 right now with 7 chest fully stocked. Three of which are stocked with full stacks and even double stacks or food and foragables. And I had these chests placed against the wall along with my gemstones chest and my main house chest with all my resources. So I decided to upgrade the whole first level of my house. And yes I did know about the mechanic that will remove furniture that may be in the way of the new door. But I wasn’t thinking and upgraded the last room... and to my horror, two of my chests(the food and foragables) had disappeared. And just so everyone knows.... the chest do not get placed in your inventory. They disappear forever along with all the hard work you put into collecting everything inside. On the bright side, it was just food and foragables. But man did that sting.

I can get into the game right now(I'm at work) but if you can place storage chests outside, then it would be a great idea to leave chests in each biome to store stuff instead of trucking it back and clogging your house up with a bunch of chests. I'm a hoarder and have 5 chests full of stuff already in my house.

You didn't mention it while talking about the tool upgrades, but you can also upgrade the watering can to remove mushrooms, by unlocking the swamp and levelling up Merlin

I grouped all my fruit harvestables (raspberries, apples, etc) together in each biome by the farm area I created. That way, I can go down the line instead of gathering all over the biome. It makes it much easier to gather to sell to Goofy.

A Tips & Tricks video for how to get Ursula and Ariel's friendship up would be AMAZINGLY helpful. I know I can give them gifts and the like but after Friendship level 7 that becomes a slog LOL And there's only SO many Flowers I can give Ariel before I'm sure she'll grow tired of them XD This game is SO much fun (despite the bugs I'm encountering) and you're a big reason why I've been enjoying it so much!

I find that gems give more friendship so just mine with a character you gave a mining boost to get more gems to give them.

@@rainbinedash9856 I can try that but since Ursula and Ariel are basically locked to the water and you cannot have them following you (to my knowledge, though I believe I read that Ariel gets a human form possibly) it's a bit harder to get them leveled up. I've given them favorite gifts, etc. but in the later levels 7+ it does get a bit harder to do so XD I will try gems though to see how well that boosts both of them.

@@Drakkena550 Well I have figured out that that gems give a good amount in the later levels but a mix of flowers and gems are the best for those 2 characters. Also I don't think that the problem is that they get tired of getting so many of the same gifts but the amount required to increase their level increases each level making it look like the gifts are less effective because it looks like it increases the bar less when it is actually giving the same amount but the bar despite looking the same is larger it requires more to fill it. I have gotten both to max friendship but flowers and gems on level 9 have a very small difference between how much of the bar they fill that it is barely noticeable so just collect all the flowers you can and give them until you max their level. Also for Ursula the max level quest is pretty easy but requires access to all the biomes.

Right now I'm in the quest glitch hell with Elsa so I'm waiting for when the next patch update comes in and PRAYING that it fixes that quest so I can get them all done before working on Scar. Love this game but I haven't been able to play as much just due to the fact that Elsa is glitched out on me with her home quest now lol

i pick flowers from all biomes and drop them in a big area near my house, it's been super helpful when I needed specific flowers for quests because I just go back to my house :) I make a lot of income from carrot farming, I plant 200 seeds and take a gardening buddy to harvest and receive 400 carrots to sell, easy money :)

You can move the stalls and wells too! They need to be on their own biome but it is great for efficient fast traveling.

Dig a bunch of holes and need them filled in? Don't fill them in by hand, go into furniture mode and drag a piece of furniture over them. It will get rid of the holes. I figured this out AFTER filling in a massive plot I wanted moved.

Another tip that I couldn't find when I searched for it. If you sig a hole up, you can cover it back up with the shovel. Also, in regards to moving items, it doesn't look like you can move Goofy's stalls out of the areas that they are in. I had thought I would make a market area by moving his stalls over by Scrooge's building, and they turn red and can't be placed.

I saw that too but it works just make the other 2 there's 2 sets of 2 . The one set you can make let's you complete the quest for Scrooge. I was wondering what clay? But you don't need to to get some thars the glitch. Idk about house upgrades later I managed to upgrade mine ok but not fully upgraded yet. The real issue with the game is collecting certain items that get stuck in stupid places out of reach when they jump out of books memory orbs or a Donald duck quest where a needed item goes under a table or something. I've not got to that part yet. Also guys be careful feeding critters can only feed once a day and if you start a quest you can't finish it til a whole day later if you have fed. Be careful with everything you collect save up rarer items for quests later avoid temptation to sell some things in case you need them later. Like rare types of each ore maybe.

They need to boost being able to get dream shards because even after clearing the thorns I've barely gotten 2 or 3 after the introductory missions and some missions you need 4 or more and Ursula needs 6 of them.

i agree with the movement, it like feels weirdly clunky and has the movement feel of like a ps2 game but agreed other than that its quite good

You are forgetting the most important tip which is you can move the wells past blocked paths to get across without the proper tool upgrades.

@@chrissyriem803 Yes I have used this to get past the bones the savanna because I don't think the upgrade is even possible to get currently in the game to remove them. As well as the large mushrooms in the swamp before getting the upgrade to actually remove them which requires tons of mushrooms that were spawning on the other side of the blocked path. I don't know if you can use the fast travel well from a different biome then it's own but you can definitely use the well found in the same biome and move it after you have repaired it to change where the fast travel takes you.

So I hit level 10 in high friendship with Anna and Moana but the outfits didn’t unlock ?
