Great info! Thank you for sharing! We plan to stay "home" at this wonderful resort and we are watching as many vids as possible to gather as much info as possible. One thing I noticed that I have NEVER seen before, on any vid or even when we have stayed elsewhere, when you opened up the mini-fridge, there were holders on the inside door that are angled instead of being straight up...this seems to be able to pull a drink out much easier! I had breakfast at the Storytellers Cafe and Kenai from Brother Bear was there. I love character dining! For those who don’t know, Kenai is a Native American man living in Alaska. His brother Sitka perishes while fighting a bear, making Kenai kill the bear. The nature spirits aren’t happy with this move he makes, so as a consequence he gets transformed into a bear. While in this form, he meets Koda, a bear cub, who he later finds out was the offspring of the bear he killed. Yeah not a nice thing to see in a Disney movie but hey it’s something different…

Getting there at 6:50 for 7:30 early entry, what time did you get into the actual park? Just curious about timing this out.

Thanks for watching and the comment. They let us into the park at 7:30am. We then did Web Slingers and were in line for Radiator Springs Racers before the park opened to non-Disney hotel guests at 8am. You also could enter the park from the main gate instead of the hotel entrance if you prefer

It is typically the most expensive option of the 3 Disney properties, but the cost can vary a lot by time of year and if there are any discounts - I picked a random day in September on the Disney website as a ballpark example and it was $715 for one night.

I was personally a bit disappointed with it, don’t get me wrong, nice place but I was comparing it to the WDW hotels: 1. DVC rooms need upgrade. 2. Lobby freezing. I like it cool but when the staff are sat there in thick coats in July and it’s too cold to sit in there with T shirt and shorts, that’s mad. 3. Pool very crowded. 4. Not enforcing wrist bands at pool. Saw a family walk straight in. 5. Despite small pool area for size of hotel and lack of beds, Disney greed cordons off about a quarter of the area for paid cabanas. I preferred most WDW hotels to GC. I loved the parks there though.

Sadly we didn’t spend much time in the pool area, but sorry that it was so crowded for your trip. Our favorite thing from the stay was definitely the location. It made it so convenient for stopping back for a break. Also really like the lobby and dining/lounge options. We know preferences and experiences can be different for everyone, so it is really helpful to hear about yours. It is a very expensive hotel and because of that one would hope to have it live up to the expectations that go with that price point. Thanks again for watching - we really appreciate it!

@@AdultsInDisney yes I agree, the location cannot be beaten. We had a disappointing view also but the positive was it was literally 10 feet from our patio to the back entrance into California Adventure, the Pixar Pier hotel park entrance where the grills are on the DVC side. The downside to this location is when we sat on the patio, the security were staring straight at us although they did tend to say hello. I think I stayed in the room closest to any Disney park entrance in the World.😂
