The minute I heard Rachel speak about the movie in the beginning of all her comments, I knew I would not go see this Disney movie. I use to go to every movie but I believe Disney has strayed from movies that Walt would have made quite a few years ago. So, Rachel’s comments are not surprising but instead very sad. There are good reasons why Snow White is a classic. There is nothing wrong with the classics but Rachel and her gen definitely think there is and the consequences of that are that Disney will loose many of their base or life long participants.

yeah, sadly it's completly impossible. Especially in the american landcape. In the end it's a company that produces a product that consumers judge. No matter the content people will project onto and interpred it, according to their agenda. Disney as a company is directly impacted by political descisions, be it landownership in florida, be it taxes/subsidies, or immigration laws. So naturally those in charge will try to navigate and manipulate to their advantage/ damage reduction. It's money tthat keeps a company alive, it just so happens that making people enjoy themselves makes them give you more of their money for it. Also a huge amount of people in america don't even seem to have a general idea anymore of what "right the problems of the world" is. Now it's about who disrespects and lies the most and elect that product of their hate as their leader. It's not about solutions, it's not even about problems, but just "feelings". The drama around Rachel proves this perfectly.

I love that you’re not afraid to discuss controversial topics. I love Disney and I will be a fan of Walt’s dream for the rest of my life. But what they’ve done to Snow White with this entire debacle is a disgrace. The point of making a remake, is to honor the original film, and although yes you can change some things, you can’t undo the whole story, a beloved story by the way, and call it a remake. Either honor the original or make something entirely new. Rachel’s comments is what really drove me to not want to see this movie and frankly I think she’s the biggest reason why the film will do so poorly. I can’t tell you how many comments I saw on social media from people pledging never to watch this film because of what she said. Terrible publicity from an arrogant actress. What really turned me off is how she basically mocks the idea of dreaming about true love. Although I’m all about empowering women and having dreams and goals, I see nothing wrong with accomplishing these goals AND finding love. Princess and the frog is a great example of this. Love doesn’t make you weak. And portraying a princess who wants love is not wrong. I honestly hope this movie flops so hard that Disney never tries to do anything like this again. And I’m sad for saying that because I love Disney. But I don’t like what they’re becoming

Politics and personalities aside, I wouldn't touch this movie with a ten-foot pole. The trailer looked dark, the CGI looked awful, and the new details of the plot sound dreadful. One of the first clips I saw was the new Whistle While You Work video. In the clip Snow White assigns tasks to the seven hard-working men and sings while they clean the cottage. In the original, she worked alongside the animals in hopes that she would earn her keep. It was visually dreadful and the entitled imagery of a princess who puts the already hard-working residents to work was off-putting. On a positive note, Rachel has a great voice but it's not enough to draw me to the theater or even Disney+.

Let’s be honest: in Snow White’s timeline she was damn lucky to get to choose her husband rather than being betrothed to a foreign prince to strengthen international ties. I wish everyone would stop remaking old movies with a reimagined strong female character with no resemblance to the original story, just using the name to make money. Sure these are dated ideas now, but just saying they are “old fashioned” and sweeping them under the rug doesn’t teach young girls anything. What about added a scene or two that show how, up until recently, your options as a woman were to get married and raise a family or probably end up in prostitution. You couldn’t own anything, work, or live an independent life unless you were very lucky and very wealthy. It’s hard to be appreciative of where we are now without understanding where we’ve come up from. Removing the social expectations while retaining the style doesn’t teach anyone anything about the history or culture (like Victorian women’s fashion being heavily influenced by tuberculosis, for instance). It leaves a form without substance, a conclusion without a question, and a generation of people with no clue about how we got where we are. Movies are so busy churning out role models, they often ignore why those character should be admired in the first place. That’s my rant for the day.

I’d like to point out for historical context that the word “dwarf” originated in fairytales to define small creatures that lived in the woods and mined jewels and gold, similar to leprechauns in the Irish legends that term was taken over in modern times to define little people so to conflate the two. This is completely wrong the original story it was not referring to people with dwarfism. It was referring to mythical little people that lived in the woods so I wish they would stop trying to conflate the two and stop trying to be politically correct over this word. Disney Studios has really lost the plot in terms of these live action films, and trying to make them politically correct and trying to modernize them. They are stories that can be told as the way they were told when they were written. if they want to change the story, then they should make it a completely new vison and not name it the same thing. Such as The Lion King, Little mermaid,Aladdin, etc. etc. Rachel Ziegler should have been removed from the role the minute she said she didn’t like the movie. There are plenty of actresses out there that would’ve stepped in that can sing and dance and act. This movie should be scrapped.

I’m just here to add myself to this long long list of people who aren’t seeing this movie. I am THE Disney adult. I see Disney movies day 1 in theatre. I have Walt’s face tattooed on me.. Rachel Ziegler is 110% the reason I won’t pay to see this movie and probably will skip it even when it comes to D+. She alone ruined this movie for me and obviously everyone else. Disney should bite the bullet and cancel this movie. Save their money.

Snow White is not an American fairytale to start with. American woke culture should be kept out of the beautiful but often dark European folklore. What is wrong with darkness and romance!! Americanization at its worst. 🙄 I hope it's going to be a flop.

I've been against the live action remakes from the start. They have always come off as low effort money grabs, rather than trying to bring new, exciting stories to audiences. As a Disney Renaissance kid, animation is their wheelhouse, followed by some live action underdog sports movies. They've had some lackluster releases here and there, but the concept of bringing fables and folk tales from all over the world, adding some fantastic music, and interesting art styles will always enthrall some audiences. For Live action Snow White, there have been too many missteps at this point to keep moving forward. Disney put too much stock in Dinklage's opinions. I've always thought that the seven dwarves were more like Tolkien dwarves, not human little people. They were always a hearty magical species of mountain and hill folk. The whole debacle about the leaked magical creatures photo turned a lot of people off, because it was the first sign that this would not stay true to the original story. I do think Rachel got too much hate from the anti-woke crowd about her ethnicity not fitting the character. This was hot off of the anti Halle Bailey Little Mermaid attacks by that group, and Rachel did not respond in a way that was fitting for a representative of Disney and the movie. She fed the trolls and just kept digging herself deeper into a hole. Then we got into the whole bit about how she doesn't even like the original story, followed by tension between her and Gal over the Israel/Palestine conflict. Add in the terrible test screenings, the trailer hate, and the appearance that Disney has no faith in the movie, and we are looking at the biggest flop of Disney history. And they've had some flops over the last few years. Several of the phase 4/5 Marvel films failed to break even, Indiana Jones 5 lost hundreds of millions, and Wish, their 100th anniversary movie, flopped. No studio can keep taking losses like that and stay afloat. It does not matter if this movie ends up being the best movie ever made. It will always be overshadowed by the controversies of the production. Disney should scrap it and recoup as much money as they can as a tax write off.

Disney should shut it down. Rachel Zegler does not learn. Disney has had to reprimand her way too many times. Gal Gadot is fed up with her. She should take a lesson from Elle Fanning and Kristen Stewart on how to be grateful for your role. There are several other things she has done that were not mentioned. Because of her. I would not see the movie.

I think if she didn’t want Snow White to be a remake, either she shouldn’t have taken the role or she could’ve pitched a new movie altogether. Those that would be interested in her type of movie could go watch it but if you’re making a “remake” its literally in the name, remake, to bring the love story of Snow White and what she went through and in the end found true love. We won’t be watching it because of her and the whole dwarf thing. Like those actors could’ve starred so well in it and Disney didn’t take the shot. 🤷🏻♀️

Can we also acknowledged the hypocrisy of Disney firing Gina from the Mandalorian for expressing very tame comments of a conservative nature while allowing others like Rachel Z and Mark Hamil to make very offensive liberal comments. It needs to be acknowledged.

The people at " Disney " should never try and play with Walts Snow White! Everyone said at the time he shouldn't make, no one sit and watch a full length cartoon. Yet he proved Everyone wrong. As yet not seen anyone who can bring this about as live action. Leave it alone, pay homage to it and all the amazing people who created it. It will always be loved, and it doesn't matter how many dollars spent it will always be a loss to business. Find something new, and add to everything that is Disney

There needs to be a cleaning of the house with the creatives at Disney. Less virtue signaling (empowering women in Snow White is just the tip of it) and return to basic storytelling. I have no plans on seeing this film, or many of the upcoming movies from Disney.
@ryan70322 ай бұрын
They're not even virtue signalling at this point. Every moral in these movies is just related to a cash value for them. Whatever is trending is what they buy stock in. It's not genuine.

@@ryan7032Well, since the election, white supremacy and, “your body, my choice” condoning sexual assault is all the rage now, hopefully Disney won’t go that direction. [Full disclosure: I’m a former longtime CM (Disneyland NO/BC Attractions), Disney has always been the original “woke” company treating everyone equally. However, I’m old AF, and when I worked there there were no women working: Jungle, Canoes, Keel Boats, Mark Twain, Columbia, Disneyland RR, Main Street Vehicles, and Skyway. Thankfully, that’s changed.]
