@@Meamery There's not that many, and I don't know how you could make a satisfying feature length out of some of these. Dreamworks stole Puss in Boots, Rumplestiltskin and the Three Little Pigs, so you can rest assured Disney will never touch those with a 50-foot pole. Hansel and Gretel is extremely dark. It could maybe work as a live adaption, but it'd have to be toned down significantly? Tom Thumb/Thumbelina, but who even remembers that? The Pied Piper? Also very dark, and again, there's not really enough plot to stretch that into a movie. They axed the Jack and the Beanstalk movie they planned to make back in 2021, so cross that one off as well. The Princess and the Pea? But that's an extremely boring fairy tale that zero people remember very fondly. The Boy who cried wolf? Disney would have to Disneyfy the fuck out of this one, the original ending has the boy eaten by wolves and dying painfully. Beyond dark. The only notable ones left I can think of is Red Riding Hood, which seems more like a live-adaption rather than an animated one, and the Ugly Duckling, which, if done right, could be good.

I got to say that for Pocahontas if it was just a story that they were made up then that'd be one thing, but Pocahontas herself was an actual real life indigenous girl who was a child, while John Smith was a grown man. she was again, a child who was stolen from her Homeland forced to marry a white man, raped, beaten and eventually murdered and never once was returned to her Homeland, she was buried in England. So for Disney to make a romance movie based off a real life little girl and age her up to fall in love with the man who stole her is disgusting.
@ReptilianTeaDrinker Жыл бұрын
I agree with you. That's why Pocahontas gave me a really weird vibe. I couldn't like the film, because of how dark it actually was and the true story of the poor girl who went through all of that. Yeah... I ain't it. Even as a child, I knew something was up and then researched it when I got a little older and read a lot of stuff about it. It's fucked up.

8:01 I feel like the thing about Pocahontas is that Pocahontas and John Smith were real people in real life except she was literally a child. She was like 12 and he was a grown ass man when they first met. So for Disney to depict a relationship between the two with an aged up Pocahontas is weird. Especially considering the relationship between the Europeans and the Natives. I watched the movie at a later age maybe around 13 or so and even then knowing the little knowledge I already had about the Native Americans as a non-American and what they had been through I found the premise of the movie very off-putting. They made a sensitive and serious topic into a sort of romeo and juliet situation. As far as I know, in reality Pocahontas and John Smith had no romantic relation, but at some point Pocahontas was kidnapped by the English and it is said that she was supposedly abused and raped by her English captors. The whole story has a lot more to it and is more complicated than Disney made it out to be. I don't think it was appropriate to depict a very real and important topic like that in the way they did in a movie for children and on top of that it's just disrespectful to real live Natives and what their ancestors had to deal with because of everything with the Europeans.

10:48 reminds me of something I experienced as a kid. My 5 year older male cousin(I think he was 12 at the time), was OBSESSED with Dragon Ball Z, especially when it was aired in Philippine television. When I visited them for a while, I remembered that he liked copying Goku's moves, especially the ones shown during fight scenes. So one day, I was watching Dragon Ball Z with my older cousin, and younger cousin. A scene showed up, I forgot which one it was(this memory is literally a decade old), and he jumped off the bed and started kicking the damn walls, acting like those kung fu masters in action movies, and the walls god damn SHOOK. My younger cousin was crying, I was panicking, and he continued to kick the frail ass walls until my grandma and uncle rushed up the stairs to turn off the TV and reprimand him

Kenji speaking facts. Just like how Disney was making bank with their stars they can do it with a Vtuber fr. They have the studios, money and staff to make lore videos and push more content with New and Their old properties. Hell they can probably do it without ever having to scout talents or host auditions.

Exactly Disneys problem isn't inclusion, it's that they prioritize that over making a good story. Like Kenji said Spiderman with Miles was dope as hell and I could not give two shits if he was black because the movie never made it a big deal that he was. Where as every time Disney does it they make it seem like we should be applauding them for something. That goes for the LGBT stuff too, and that's literally coming from a lesbian. I also hate that their changing peoples races, idc that Ariel was black I care that they did that to seem diverse like hey fellas maybe MAKE AN ORIGINAL POC CHARACTER INSTEAD OF REHASHING?? We have how many white princesses and only one black princess, Tiana (fire movie btw).

Neil aka Astarion is so popular and people are watching him bc they love his voice and character. The next level would be streams with the actual characters of games, anime etc. with the voice actors or even people with voice changers or whatever. I bet people would love that.
