And just for the record, my favorite parts of your videos are the “sights and sounds of the ship” bits. Docking, sailing around at sunset, walking the walking path. You hit a mood with that, and it’s my favorite.

Thank you! That was exactly the reason why i started creating these videos. Before my first ever cruise, I couldn't find any content out there with the "raw" experience since they were mostly vlogs. I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates this style!

I have watched your other videos. Really like the sight and sounds style. Seems this particular one is your shortest sailing. What are your thoughts about the shorter sailing vs.longer ones? Was it rushed since it was a 4 nights?
@jjma10 ай бұрын
Thanks! The experience is very similar from a presentation perspective. The big difference between the short and long sailings are the guest demographics. Many more first-time cruisers and many more kids onboard the short ones, whereas the longer sailings have a much more seasoned/experienced group of passengers (and fewer kids). 4 nights didn't feel rushed at all! There was plenty to do on the boat. Hope this helps!

Who played Belle in Disney Dream play? We went to the second showtime on every night and she played Rapunzel in Tangled. Phenomenal voice and talent.
@jjma9 ай бұрын
I’m not sure. On the longer sailings, the cast would host a cabaret and that’s where they would introduce themselves. They also have other job responsibilities, where they accompany the character meet & greets. More likely than not you probably saw the cast around the ship not knowing!

Hey! We are sailing out this December, did you guys drive down the day of embarkation? How was it??
@jjma3 ай бұрын
@@tonyphuong6999 we stayed in Houston the night before, then we took an Uber drive down directly to the Port of Galveston. For two of us on an UberX it was about $60 at the time. I hope this helps!

I have these days booked for 2025. Was it too cold for the pool? Do you think having a balcony in the room is not necessary since it is cold out?
@jjma9 ай бұрын
the week we went was a freak occurrence of cold weather. Embarkation day it was 37 degrees. but on day 2, the temp warmed up to the mid 70s and then mid 80s when we got to Progreso. The pools are heated accordingly so I think you should be fine. With regard to the verandah room, I didn’t have one booked this trip so I can’t fully speak to that, but we were very happy with the ocean view room we had!

If you had a 4 yr old would you recommend a Disney cruise or Disneyland? I’m leaning towards Disney cruise because I don’t want to be waiting in long lines at the parks. Did you have to lind up for many things on the cruise?
@jjma8 ай бұрын
Hi! Having experienced both, I would say that the cruise is better for a 4 year old. A disneyland/disneyworld day takes an immense amount of planning and by the end of the day you become very tired. The cruise is a much slower pace and has designated areas for kids. the activities that have lines are mainly character meet and greets & photos. But they aren’t nearly as long as lines at the parks. I’d say you are saving yourself a lot of energy by going on a cruise over the parks. This is not to say the parks are bad, but I’d wait until your kid is a couple years older before doing that. I hope this helps!

@@jjma This reaffirms what I’ve been thinking. Thank you so much! Any tips i should know? I’m thinking of booking this exact cruise and itinerary in Jan!
@jjma8 ай бұрын
@@rebecaj6045 during January, the temperature in Galveston was a lot colder than I expected. It was 37 degrees on embarkation day. I was told that it was unusual weather at the time but it was just something I didn’t expect. in Mexico, the temp was in the mid 80s which was good. The variation in temp creates a pretty significant amount of wind which resulted in somewhat rough waters (at least on our sea day back to Texas). If you haven’t been on a cruise before, then I’d recommend packing some motion sickness medicine (we pack Dramamine) because everybody has different tolerance levels of a rocking ship. just something to be mindful of. Outside of that, just prepare for 4 days of unlimited food and soft drinks 🙂

It's on the Disney Cruise website. Some people use travel agents, but I've been able to book cruises on my own without needing an agent. I'll paste the link here for Galveston specific availability. It looks like there are plenty of sailings this year and next. Wishing you the best of luck! disneycruise.disney.go.com/cruises-destinations/list/#galveston-texas .
