I have fond memories of Magical Tetris Challenge on the N64, it was the go-to game to play with my mum in my childhood. She was a Tetris god though and beat Tetris on Game Boy casually during lunchtimes so I never stood a chance. Good memories.
@xRed5433x6 жыл бұрын
Magical Tetris Challenge is a little bit of an underrated game, and a great example of how unique competitive Tetris gameplay can be. The use of pentaminos instead of traditional garbage lines is a refreshing change of pace, too. Additionally, you can somewhat control your next pieces because both players share the same next piece, and it is given to whoever needs it next. Strategic players could wait until the next piece is a line piece, then immediately drop what they have and take it before the other player can place their piece, making it so the other player never gets a line piece themselves. I wish more Tetris games would try different things with the formula like this one.

I remember back in the day when I played A Bug's Life on the PS1 that I was so surprised to actually hear the voices of the Danish actors, seeing as video games up to that point would never really be translated to my native language. Strangely enough tho, I wasn't actually familiar with the Danish word for "Load" as I hadn't really ever seen or used it, so I didn't understand why I kept overwriting my save file every time I booted it up because I accidentally used the Save option. I'm glad I didn't play the N64 version as that one seemed to be lacking in pretty much every aspect compared to the PS1 version I remember trying it on my Everdrive but there must've been some anti piracy things on there cause one of the buttons were disabled. Toy Story 2 was a game I actually owned and completed many times on the N64 and really loved back in the day despite it's short length. For some reason I just found the whole concept of exploring a giant world from a toy's perspective really appealing. Guess that's also why I loved Toy Commander on Dreamcast... Toy Story 2, Tarzan, and a Bug's Life were large parts of my infancy playing games. with the ps1 as my first console (I was only like 3 when we got it for my older brother), I got alot of these games. I love toy story 2 and still think Tarzan is a decent Donkey Kong country esque game. Bugs life... sucks. I'm glad I got to enjoy some them growing up as a kid

I've only played Mickey's Speedway USA. I only bought it to complete my Rare-made games N64 collection though I'll admit the Disney flavor made me interested in playing it. Unfortunately while I thought it was solid enough I didn't really feel like it was the best use of a Disney world since the stages felt bland considering what I'd think of a Disney-fied version of the USA might look or more Disney-esque locations.

the music though....man the San Francisco level music is awesome

I owned a couple of these as a kid. A Bug's Life has some cool ideas but the slippery controls just ruin it. Tarzan is actually a really solid platformer. Nothing special but pretty fun. Toy Story 2 is actually pretty impressive for the amount of stuff in each level, as well as the size of each level to explore. Easily the best of the three.

Mickey's Speedway USA was definitely my number 1 favorite of the Disney game, being a fan of Racing and Rare games, music and handling was certainly the things I've enjoyed the most, as got old I slowly notice how cities would look like in the Disney universe. This is the only game that I would have loved to have a sequel back in the Gamecube days. Toy Story 2 and Tarzan were just ok games for me with TS2 being slightly more better than Tarzan.

Toy Story 1 should've been a 3D adventure-stealth game released for PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast and Microsoft Windows. The Toy Story 2 video game should've been an open-world game based on the Buzz Lightyear video game from the film's intro and released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, XBOX and Gamecube. And the Toy Story 3 video game, fine the way it is.

I can't comment on most of the Disney N64 games as i've never played them, but I have played and loved Toy Story 2. I also completely forgot Magical Tetris Challenge was a Disney game and I own it. Really need to get the rest of the Disney games for my collection. But let's be real...Ducktales is still the best Disney game ever made (as well as my favorite NES game).

Toy Story 2 is pretty sweet, it just runs poorly but it is fun and has some good level design. Kind of short though.

I honestly thought that A Bug's Life was a great game back when I was a kid and I still like it a lot to this day, but I must agree that the N64 version is an absolutely wretched experience. I will say that even if it's a massively flawed game, it is best played on the PS1 if anyone wants their Disney collectathon fix.
