Disney+ price hike: How to beat it, plus new cheaper plan with ads (UK August 2023)

Yes another streaming price increase, with the existing Disney+ plan going up by £3 a month from November. But alongside these changes are two lower priced options. Here's what you need to know, and how to get it for free!

This is all about greed a £30 a year increase is shocking and they wonder why people illegally stream shows and films, looks like that's the way forward sticking 2 fingers up to all these streaming platforms. But remember I can't condone illegal streaming 🤫

besides Netflix (the odd one out) no other streaming company makes a profit, NONE. Spotify, KZbin, Disney+, Paramount+, HBO (even though not available here), etc, all are in the red, their business plan is to grow user base and then figure out a way to be profitable. For some, like Apple and Amazon, losing money on streaming is okay as it is a way to attract customers to their other businesses, but for the likes of Spotify, there is no other business to rely on...

I live in Germany and currently I have Disney and Netflix with ads for 10.99€ I think it is worth the price. The children's profiles don't see ads so the grandkids are happy.

I just canceled Disney. I waited to see if they would release something good this holiday, but nothing. Just the same old movies and a higher bill.

If you opted for the Ads option, do the ads run during movies, or do you get the adverts BEFORE the movie, then get to see the movie, un-interupted?

Hi Andy, thought i would try here as im not 100% the twitter account i found was legit. Im struggling to find a concrete answer to this. My wife already owns a home but did not use a Lisa and has never had one. She is below 40, is she able to open a Lisa and pay £4K into it (S&S) per year for retirement? Would she be eligable for the bonus?

I've had emails from pretty much every service provider telling me my monthly plans are increasing. There will be another price hike in a few months due to all of the customers who are leaving.

Think I’ll probably be ditching disney plus. I don’t watch it as much and mainly bought for the marvel/star wars content which has gone massively downhill. This charging extra for 4k these days really annoys me.

It has been reported that Disney will crack down on password sharing, although there's no detail yet about where, when or how. This follows in from Netflix doing the same. Regarding picture quality, Disney films have always been in very high def because 35mm film itself is high def and can be rescanned to 4k or whatever the latest, greatest streaming standard is. Only older straight-to-video recordings (typically TV shows, not movies) are likely to be lower picture quality and can't be significantly rescanned to a better rate ... yet. Technology moves on, so don't put anything past them!

Disney plus with ads is well worth it hardly any ads during tv or movie shows and certain movies and tv shows doesnt have ads

In modern parlance it's become a term used to express ire at the latest thing the person using the term, usually but not always, a cis het white male, doesn't like. It's any perceived erosion of the status quo that allowed sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and the like to be passed off as "banter" and that pointing out inequality and discrimination is just the inability to take a joke.
